✨ Last night, I had the great opportunity to attend a thought-provoking round table event initiated by the dynamic duo, Lunia Hara Hand Sarah-Lisa Besemer, and kindly hosted by the talented Sophia Rödiger at the 1KOMMA5° showroom in Hamburg. These three phenomenal women envisioned a unique platform for fostering discussions on #sustainability in businesses, and what an inspiring evening it turned out to be! The format was refreshingly unconventional, akin to a cozy dinner party amongst friends, yet expertly balanced with thoughtful guidance to facilitate diverse perspectives and ideas. It created a safe space for an honest, sometimes controversial, and wonderfully diverse dialogue that resonated with everyone present. Amidst the delicious food and the impressive personalities in the room, my key takeaways from the night were: 🔄 Circumstances determine Human Behaviour: We need change makers, multipliers, and enablers who can reshape existing business models and organisational structures. 🌈 We need more positive narratives around sustainability: A sustainable world is not just a responsibility; it is an opportunity! The evening highlighted the vast business prospects within sustainability, proving that it gives us much more than it takes away. 🌍Everyone needs to do their share: The creation of a sustainable world relies on the collaborative efforts of entrepreneurship, politics, society, and each individual. As Lunia Hara aptly put it, "We can create a sustainable world if we treat the environment, each other, and ourselves with empathy.” 💖 💡We have the tools, but do we have the will? Technology, financial assets, and knowledge abound; the resources needed to transform our world are at our fingertips. The question remains: are we truly committed to the change? It has been an eventful September after a quiet summer with no conferences or meetups. The past few weeks have been thrilling, presenting several chances to meet people and witness groundbreaking innovations.   #startupboston was one such event, which showcased natural and sustainable products like RYOLO LTD and PetPax Co., along with software like Just Add Flights, which makes travel more accessible, and Health For Mankind Company, which helps manage diabetes in underserved and minority populations.   Then, at UMass Lowell Innovation Hub, the conversation focused on advancing sustainability solutions and showcased Boatman LLC, which makes shoes made out of vegan/eco-friendly leather and materials. 🌵   The Score Women's in Business Summit was one not to be missed. ✨  It featured Mabelyn L. from 4insurance Advisory & Consulting and Anne McNamara from Club Pilates, who shared their business journey and gave us strategies to help advance our businesses.   Lastly, the Greentown Labs Go Make kickoff event was truly inspiring. It featured various organizations committed to transforming how goods are sourced, produced, and managed during their end-of-life stage. It was a great opportunity to meet folks working on a wide range of technologies that can make a difference in the world, such as Erin Linebarger, Ph.D. from Robotics 88, who is developing technology that can aid in managing forest fires, Mesbah Sabur from Circularise who is working on creating traceable supply chains for a circular economy, and Daniela Zaviezo Arriagada, who utilizes technology for strategic urban decision-making.   These events highlighted many inspiring stories and technologies that brought hope. However, as much as I enjoyed meeting people and learning, as an introvert, I feel exhausted. Coincidentally, last week Deborah Zahn (she/her) had a fantastic podcast with Dr. Scott Thomas discussing self-care.
