How to understand which experience is a 'must have', and which is a 'nice to have'? Ask yourself the following questions? - what problem should be solved by hiring a candidate for this vacancy? - what results do you expect from the candidate who will come to this vacancy in 3-6 months? - what will a typical day look like on this vacation? Hiring Manager: I have a vacant xxx role that needs to be filled. Recruiter: Proceeds to search and shortlist candidates for the HM's consideration. HM: Rejects all 20 candidates. We need more options. Recruiter: Why is that? Didn't any of them meet the qualifications? HM: No, I need someone who ticks 12/10 on the checklist!!!!!! Recruiter's Perspective: 🤦♀️ Seriously? Is someone like that even out there? This is why the recruitment process can be frustrating... Why insist on finding a perfect match when a strong 5 or 6 out of 10 could suffice? It raises the question: Are we giving today's job seekers a fair chance? Wasn't someone willing to take a chance on us when we were starting out? To all Hiring Managers: There's no such thing as a flawless candidate. Let's give people the opportunity to learn and develop. #Recruiter'sPerspective #GiveChances
