🔹Explainable and responsible Artificial Intelligence 🔹Marcin S. Artificial Intelligence is one of the fastest-growing areas of IT for all businesses. Models are expected to make more and more autonomous decisions. But sometimes they fail and we want to know why. Unfortunately, even Data Scientists often don’t understand how their models behave. To build responsible AI systems assessing the model’s performance is not enough. We need to incorporate explainability into AI systems to understand the decisions they make and ensure they align with ethical and legal guidelines. Explainability allows us to trace the decision-making process of AI models and identify any biases or errors that may have occurred. In this session, we will discuss various techniques used to achieve explainability in AI models available on Azure Machine Learning Services and SynapseML. [MSTS23] 🔗https://lnkd.in/dTtyKZyH

HR Manager | Leveraging AI & Generative AI to Drive Talent Acquisition & Retention | Strategic Leader with Tech-Savvy Insights
Andrew Ng, a pioneer in AI and machine learning, offers a compelling vision of AI's future in a wide-ranging conversation. He dismisses claims that AI is hitting a wall, asserting that we're far from reaching limits and that the set of tasks AI can perform is rapidly expanding. Ng emphasizes the importance of fast inference and token generation, predicting that improvements in these areas will unlock new capabilities and applications. He introduces the concept of "agentic workflows," where AI systems can iterate on tasks, critique their work, and make improvements, much like humans do. This approach, Ng argues, could significantly enhance AI performance and reliability. On the contentious issue of open-source AI, Ng strongly advocates for its promotion, viewing it as crucial for innovation and global progress. He criticizes lobbying efforts to restrict open-source AI, suggesting that such restrictions could harm American and global innovation. Ng also discusses the evolving AI technology stack, noting the emergence of new layers such as orchestration and agentic frameworks. He sees vast opportunities in AI applications across various sectors, with his AI Fund focusing on collaborations with corporate partners to leverage their domain expertise. Ng offers insights into the business dynamics of AI, discussing the challenges of building a moat in the rapidly evolving foundation model layer. He suggests that while pure foundation models might face economic pressures, there are opportunities for differentiation through other technology components or layers in the AI stack. Ng also touches on the strategic moves of major tech companies in the AI space, such as Meta's release of the Llama model, drawing parallels with earlier open-source initiatives like PyTorch. Looking ahead, Ng expresses optimism about continued advancements in AI capabilities but cautions against focusing solely on benchmarking AI against human intelligence. Instead, he advocates for a step-by-step progression in AI's ability to perform valuable tasks across industries. Ng anticipates significant progress in AI's ability to analyze images and envisions transformative impacts across various sectors, including healthcare, financial services, and education. However, Ng also tempers expectations about the pace of AI adoption, noting that both "atoms" (physical infrastructure) and "bits" (digital systems) can be surprisingly slow to change due to factors like cultural inertia and change management challenges. Despite these hurdles, he remains excited about AI's potential to boost efficiency for knowledge workers and transform various aspects of work and industry. Throughout the conversation, Ng's perspective balances technological enthusiasm with pragmatic considerations about implementation and adoption. #andrewng #ai https://lnkd.in/gNX5M-26

The real existential risks of AI are related to drought and data centers generating new sacrifice zones
The OII's Departmental Research Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence, Government & Policy Ana Valdivia is featured as an expert in Context Newsroom's video on AI data centres' demand for power and water, which increasingly draws resources away from populations in the global south. The episode explores why Big Tech is choosing water-stressed regions for their water-hungry operations, and why governments are giving data centres access to water when so many of their citizens are going thirsty. My First Week on AICE Program 🤓 Over the past 7 days, I've gained invaluable insights into AI and machine learning 🔬. I learned about supervised learning, where machines are fed labeled examples to recognize patterns. Unsupervised learning allows machines to analyze unlabeled data and group similarities. Reinforced learning teaches agents through rewards and punishments in virtual environments. AI is helping healthcare in amazing ways 🏥. Predictive models use patient histories to spot at-risk groups. Diagnosis assistance analyzes symptoms, scans and test results to narrow down conditions. By identifying patterns humans miss. This is just the beginning of my AICE journey 🚀. I can't wait to see how AI and machine learning continue transforming industries like transportation, education and more! Most exciting is contributing solutions that improve lives. Here is a link for a video illustrate machine learning. https://lnkd.in/dNeX3e4t Article talking about early detection of cancer using AI https://lnkd.in/dUWWixpW. #alxafrica #alxaccepted #ai #healthcare #dohardthings #medtech #healthtech
