CrowdStrike meltdown explained simply and clearly by the handsomest CyberSec i've ever met
🗝 Key technical updates on CrowdStrike issue: 🗝 1. The faulty update that was pushed was not a software update or a kernel driver, it was an update for the database of detections of malicious behaviors (Indicators of Attack - IoA), referred to as “Channel File” by CrowdStrike. 2. Specifically, this update (Channel File 291) contains detection rules around the usage of Named Pipes, the Windows inter-process communication. 3. Only Windows operating systems were impacted. 4. Although the update is not a kernel driver, it is being loaded and used by the CrowdStrike driver “csagent.sys.” 5. The faulty Channel File was incorrectly formatted, leading the CrowdStrike driver to access a null memory address, which caused Windows to crash the system. 6. This type of update is being pushed to all versions in production (7.11 and above). Therefore, if organizations kept an N-1 version to protect themselves from potential errors in new versions, they were still impacted, as detection content updates are relevant to all versions. 7. These updates are deployed several times a day, as they are critical to detecting malicious activities, making the “don’t deploy on Friday” notion irrelevant. 8. However, there are other ways CrowdStrike can test and push this update in a gradual and safe manner to prevent widespread issues. 📢 If you have any additional technical information or insights, please comment and share with everyone. 📢

First version of our (Pareto.Solutions) latest for iRESTORE Laser (Freedom Laser Therapy) It's been an extremely fun project to work on, Matthew Chavez gave us a bunch of crazy ideas and told us to have fun with it, and fun we did! What I really like about this ad is that it has a very "PARETO" vibe. While TikTok-style organic videos perform great, after a while, they all look the same. With the rise of scalable sources for "organic" videos (Fiverr, uplifted.ai, etc.), sometimes you just wanna make something that looks cool instead of yet another talking head telling you about "this one weird hack." Performance-wise, it's hard to tell which type of creative works best. As a general rule of thumb, high production value increases trust. So, the bolder your claim, the less the "organic" vibe fits the bill. But there are many outliers to this rule, so I'd take it with a grain of salt. Still, doing bold, colorful ads is what we LOVE doing, so this argument is mostly hypothetical for us - We're in it for the love of the game. Speaking about love, that's Ofer's (our star director) last production before he heads out for several months of reserve service in Lebanon. Fucking crazy, shitty world that we're living in. Ofer, plenty more productions in queue for you when you get back, so stay safe. Plus, we love you, we really do. Our partner Nuseir Yassin is hosting this convention in Tel Aviv next month with Regev. They'll bring lots of mega-influencers and shit, should be cool. TL;DR: We (Sortino - By Pareto Solutions) are in charge of selling all the tickets. They're selling like crazy, and we're almost out. If you want to meet up there and get drunk on smuggled Arak, buy your tickets NOW (link in the comments I'm dead serious about the booze). --- Regev/Nas: We'll need a "massive shout out to our sexy, amazing partners at Pareto.Solutions" from the stage at some point. Even my own mother didn't know we've been working together for years. --- Buy the tickets. cc Elad Shalev Yaron Lev Gal Dvir Ofer Pedut-Hernández Nimrod Gershoni Nir Herman

Our (Pareto.Solutions) latest for MAGAL GROUP. With cool stuff about the ad: 1. The handsome young boy is my eldest, Berry (i'm not paying him BTW) 2. We launched this product in the US, France, and now Israel. It sells like CRAZY. 3. Every women in my life told me "you'd have to pay me the wear it" when I showed 'em my Midjourney draft. Now I'm convinced you should NEVER ask your target audience anything. 4. Surprisingly, all men thought it's a great idea (yet 99% of buyers are women) 5. Once I made the Midjourney sketch, I gave it to Gal Dvir and told him "make an ad". He did, with photoshop and AI, this ad generates thousands in sales every day and is still our top performer 6. We started selling it before we knew how to make it. We've launched AI test campaign, it exploded, then Sacha Griguer just made it happen in real life. The guy is a machine. 7. This ad took 30 minutes to shoot, and 3 days to edit, hopefully it'll beat the AI or i'll have to fire my director (hi Ofer Pedut-Hernández!)

WORD
Most brands can't make branded ads at TOF because they haven't earned the right to. No-one cares about you or your product when they first see it on the feed, they only care about what it can do for them. So lead with this, then as the ad goes on, as they click through and become a part of your funnel...THAT'S when you can start talking about your brand. Use performance ads (ugly ads) as an 'on-ramp' to brand. You're not going to tarnish your reputation because the first 15 seconds of your ad are ugly.

12 Million Dollars Nas and I flirted for years, but our official workiversary is around 2022. Nuseir texted me, haggled a ridiculous price for a small pilot campaign for what later became one of Nas Company's main revenue channels. I'm more on the creative side of things, and in Nas's case, they had it covered - so I dumped the entire thing on Elad Shalev, who leads Pareto.Solutions performance arm (Sortino - By Pareto Solutions), and wrote him; "BS money but he's a friend good PR. Do a short pilot, 90% it's going nowhere." Luckily, Elad learned to ignore my BS years ago, put a pedal to the metal, and hasn't slowed the pace since. We gradually got more and more of Nas Company's projects to promote (Nas.io, Nas Academy, and Nas Summit), and after 1.5 years of (Elad & his team) spitting blood - we're proud to have helped Nas Company reach $12 million USD in annual revenue. The secret sauce is Nas, of course, but not (just) for the reasons you think. I don't know how he picks his team, but they're the most dialed-in people I've encountered. They're quick, they're tight, and working with them is a pure pleasure. There's probably a lesson here somewhere ("dump more stuff on Elad?", "hire Nuseir as your HR person?", "take equity next time?") , but today's Purim and I have to take my sons to the circus. https://lnkd.in/d3AVCn4u

A rough cut of our (Pareto.Solutions) latest for Parametrix Insurance. I love this script, I stole ~80% of it from Better Stack amazing X ads. Insurance is an easy sell; show the catastrophe, then show the "it's fine, we're insured". Yet it's difficult to stand out, everybody is selling car / home / health insurance and most of the offers are near identical. That's why Israeli companies such as Next Insurance, Lemonade and Parametrix try to penetrate the market via blue ocean niches such as cloud, urban or small business insurance. Not unlike PayPal strategy of competing over eBay sellers instead of trying to usurp established brands such as Visa and Mastercard. When David was offered to wear an armor to fight Goliath, he refused - he couldn't use Goliath weapons and win, it would slow him down. He won using an agile slingshot. Goliaths major advantages are often their incumbency - when you're too big, too rich- you're too slow. This creative is fast and dirty, that's what I like about it. It won't win awards, but it will get our client paying customers. Production & Editing: Gal Dvir Script: Moshe Saraf & Better Stack Executive Producer: Elad Shalev
