Topic #3 "Know your Audience" 👉 Leveraging social media marketing is the first step to establishing an online presence for your brand, but where should you begin? I would like to talk about a few tips in today's marketing post to help you get your social media marketing off to a great start. Defining who your target audience is should be your first priority when you embark on a social media marketing campaign. So, what exactly is a target audience? Semrush defines it well: “A target audience is a group of people that products, services, or marketing efforts are aimed toward, typically defined by traits like age, gender, income, interests, challenges, and goals. Targeting the right audiences can help you reduce costs and increase conversions.” Therefore, start asking yourself, “Who am I selling my product or service?” "Who are the ideal clients for me?" For instance, if you are selling basketball socks, your audience should be everyone who enjoys basketball and is between the ages of 18 and 65. Of course, they could be much younger and older. Knowing your clients is the first step in defining your target audience. You should also keep learning about them as you may find new helpful insights for your advertising campaigns. Analytical tools like SEMrush, Google Analytics, or your preferred analytics tools will help you begin to understand more about your target audience, as you can find demographics such as ages, interests, behaviours, etc. Which are important when you structure your ads. By identifying your target market, you can focus your marketing efforts on people who are most likely to purchase your products or services, along with raising conversion rates as a result. In addition, I would want to add something related to this post. Which is to also define your buyer persona! Buyer personas and target audiences are not the same. Though they are different from one another, they are related. A buyer persona focuses on specific segments of the target audience to provide a more detailed understanding of the customer. You can begin creating your buyer persona by providing the potential customer with a name, demographic information, areas of interest, and behavioural characteristics.
