Opportunity comes in many forms. Often however, they are not real, and only benefit the provider / seller of said opportunity.
At Stony Hill, we are about pursuing real opportunities. And we are looking for more people, including at the executive levels, to help us all make money.
Whether you are planning, still building your empire, maximizing its valuation, preparing for exit, or ready for the exit, we have the tools to help. Stony Hill Advisors, Inc. is a M&A Advisory and Management Consulting firm that is built to help its clients drive revenue, increase efficiency, and gain market share with the goal of increasing profitability. Focusing on the fundamentals, using our M&A, capital formation, and other growth strategies, we help our clients create long term options, whether it be an Exit strategy such as being acquired, or an IPO, or, if the business is to continue with a succession plan.

🤝 Corporate Sponsorship: A Catalyst for Change 🚀
Corporate sponsorship is more than just financial support; it's a commitment to empower underrepresented talent. While I’ll always lift as I climb when I identify amazing colleagues, I keep a passion for speaking on behalf of corporate sponsorship in fostering diversity and inclusion. As we continue to strive for equitable and representative workplaces, let's focus on uplifting African American women.
By sponsoring African American women, we:
1️⃣ Break Barriers: Open doors to leadership roles and opportunities they deserve.
2️⃣ Cultivate Talent: Nurture diverse perspectives, fostering innovation and creativity.
3️⃣ Drive Change: Promote an inclusive workplace that reflects the richness of our society.

Hard work ≠ success
Throughout her 30-plus year career at Morgan Stanley, Carla Harris has made quite a name for herself after executing IPOs for companies like UPS and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. But in a conversation with Chief Members, Harris revealed why it took more than hard work to get to where she is today.
“Nobody makes it alone. And it doesn't matter how smart you are or how hard you work, somebody will have to carry your paper into the room because every major decision about your career from your promotion, to your compensation, to your assignments are made in a room behind closed doors where you are not present.”

Heard this in my first meeting of the day!
“Wise man learns from his mistakes,
Wiser man learns from the mistakes of others,
The one who has all of the answers and who knows everything, is the fool in the room. “
One of the many reasons I love mentoring the next generation of investors and entrepreneurs because if they take the opportunity to learn from the silly things I’ve done they will be better for it.
One of my peers in my role before joining Allied Federal Solutions LLC always used a term from the Bible of “Seek Wise Counsel” which I’m getting better at but always have room to grow.
In this new role I’m getting to learn from some brilliant corporate officers on how to build culture, build the right team, and how to serve your team.
Onward and upward.
Throughout my career I’ve been incredibly blessed to get the opportunity to work on some incredible acquisitions that helped me grow and learn. I’ve taken risks and sought paths that others cautioned me against. But like I’ve told my peers and mentees, you have to advocate for your own career and growth opportunities. We’ve probably all heard the quote, “If a door doesn’t open, it’s not your door.”
Recognizing our differences in what motivates us and knowing that “one size doesn’t fit all” provides opportunity to reflect on what truly will make you thrive and happy in a position. I realize this is difficult when working in such a structured DoD environment but it’s still possible.
In our journey towards success, we encounter numerous closed doors that may leave us feeling discouraged. But remember, each closed door is simply guiding us towards the right path meant for us. If it doesn't open, it's not your door - trust that something better is in store for you!
Let's stay positive, resilient, and open-minded as we navigate through life's twists and turns. The key is to keep pushing forward, staying true to ourselves, and believing that the perfect door will open at the right time.
Embrace the closed doors as a chance for growth, learning, and new opportunities.
You can’t put a price on happiness but you can absolutely quantify the impact. According to an HBR article on the impact of Workplace Happiness on productivity, “Being happy at work isn’t just a win for employees; it’s also a win for employers. Novel research from Oxford has found a causal link between happy workers and a 13% increase in productivity. On the flipside, disengaged employees are unhappy employees, which costs the world $8.8 trillion dollars, or 9% of global GDP.”
