Here are a few examples of crucial indicators for businesses focused on being a catagory leader: 1) what do clients think, where do they spend their time and money? 2) can they attract the brightest grads to work / learn / build a career there? 3) does trust & integrity abound? 4) humility, are the employees moniacly focused on improving the offering and how much do they care? One of the several truly jaringly differentiated things about about this place is the people. They drive our service and culture forward. Excited to meet this years Summer Analysts and feeling their enthusiasm.

As I reflect on my decade-long career journey at Goldman Sachs, one lesson stands out: The importance of asking questions. From my early days to where I am now, I've learned that curiosity and asking questions fuels GROWTH. So here's a reminder to myself and to all of you - NEVER shy away from asking questions. It's not about having all the answers every single time, it's about having the COURAGE to seek them. Let's embrace CURIOSITY and keep ASKING, keep LEARNING, and keep GROWING. Year 2 at Morgan Stanley. I had a lot of fun this year. I leaned more on colleagues and I leveraged my connections to help me grow in my career as a CFP professional. I developed a different work ethic and mentality - from perfectionist to realist. I would expect nothing less than perfection and I would bully myself to no end when I failed at even the smallest tasks. For example, a client rated me poorly based on a process I had no control over. I would still blame myself and try to do better. However, I learned that I was actually scarring myself for the negative self-talk I was doing, especially for the ratings that weren’t in my control (some people are really crazy). I learned to accept my mistakes and I learned to get over my feelings of inadequacy because there will always be more opportunities to succeed. Numbers can indicate how I should be perceived, but the numbers are calculated based on an imperfect equation that doesn’t capture every aspect of my success. Regardless of whether I am measured by the average of my client ratings or the mean of my quality scores, I am a world-class human man.

🚨🚨 I am pleased to announce that I successfully completed JPMorganChase’s virtual job simulation in Investment Banking on the Forage platform!This experience gave me a genuine look at the world of investment banking and helped me build essential skills in advanced Excel and PowerPoint. During the simulation, I realised I had a passion for assisting customers through large, complex transactions and working on high-value, high-risk projects. Here are some of the main takeaways from the course 1. I Identified a client's optimum M&A target by evaluating strategic and financial factors. 2. Created a DCF model to evaluate the M&A target's valuation, then updated it to account for a competing bid and supply chain disruptions. 3. I created a comprehensive 2-pager for the customer that included a firm profile and an overview of the auction procedure. This hands-on experience has cemented my desire to join an investment banking team at a company such as J.P. Morgan I'm excited to apply what I've learned to real-world circumstances and contribute to significant financial transactions. Hello Network, Yesterday I had an amazing experience at Goldman Sachs attending a fireside chat with the firm's CEO, David Solomon. During the occasion, I had the chance to engage with diverse individuals and absorb the insights and guidance shared by David. Here is some impactful advice from David that I think will be useful particularly to those of you at the beginning of your careers: 💡 “You’re at the beginning of a long journey, don’t be in a hurry” – Understandably, everybody wants to know what their destination is and what their career will be, but that’s just not how life works. It is much more fruitful to be in the moment and to enjoy the present. 💡 “Be authentic to yourself and tell your story” – You’ll be surprised at what opportunities come to you when you’re true to yourself and tell your story. For those of you who are undergrads at university like myself, these are three things which David thinks everybody should do while they’re at university: 💡 “No matter what you’re interested in, take accounting” – No matter what you go on to do in the world professionally, there will be some economic construct to it. Understanding and asking questions about the economic construct behind anything you do will help you be more successful in it. 💡 “Take public speaking” – The confidence to speak, present and express yourself is an invaluable tool that you will use throughout your journey no matter what. 💡 “Pursue something that you’re passionate about but that has nothing to do with what you think you’re supposed to be doing to achieve your professional goals” – You won’t have as much opportunities to explore passions after university. I'd like to express my thanks to Anna Skoglund for her facilitation of the discussion with David, and to Jessica Middleton and Kat Gorna for their invaluable insights on applications.
