President Emeritus at World Vision, Author “Lead Like It Matters To God” and “The Hole in Our Gospel”
Humility is rare but crucial in a leader. A leader with humility understands that it’s not about them. The humble leader listens to the input of others, encourages competing points of view, values all members of the team, and seeks the welfare of others over self.

You should always communicate openly, and with patience and understanding. Never should you be discriminatory. If you are a leader who believes that to be okay, you should no longer be a leader. As a leader you should advocate for your team, not bring them down, and definitely not call them names. Support your teams.

ob·se·qui·ous /əbˈsēkwēəs/ adjective: obedient or attentive to an excessive or servile degree. "they were served by obsequious waiters" As a leader, who are your best followers? In the hard business of people-leading, followers who would do anything to carry your message may feel like welcomed allies but serve no long-term purpose to a team (or to you as a leader). The best followers are leaders. People who are practiced at making up their own minds, and agree with actions or statements that they believe in... not positional relationships. 😎 As a leader, you will often be right😎 🛑 As a leader, you will sometimes be wrong🛑 I want my people to voice support and appreciation when the former is true. But I also need them to share their concern or disagreement with my choices in the latter instance.

Entrepreneur: helping team leaders build a honorable & thriving culture (aligned, connected, engaged) producing top notch joy filled work.
Powerful leader liberate others. They don’t dominate them! Powerful leaders acknowledge that their followers are created to be free and thus they lead in view of their freedom, not against it. Leading in view of freedom look like .. > Valuing the gifts and strengths each team member brings > Seeing the potential of others rather than their weaknesses > Positioning team members to work in view of their strengths > Taking the time to invest in and develop team members so they become greater than the leader > Knowing when a team member needs to be supported or challenged so that they maximize their growth I encourage you to take 5 minutes to think about someone on your team and how you can liberate them today. What is one way you honor freedom in others? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your first step in freedom is knowing where you are going :https://buff.ly/465yJD1

Charisma is more than having a big personality or a lot to say. At its core, charisma is likeability... And likeability has a lot more to do with serving others than it does with making your voice heard or your presence known. What constitutes a likable leader?
