We're excited to introduce the next member of our team, Monica Truong, our Recruiting Coordinator who comes to us from VAST and Meta.
Tell us about yourself Monica
I was born and raised in Washington state and have been living in California for 3 years now. My recruiting journey began at Meta before joining the team at Vast. Transitioning from a tech company, I initially had little knowledge about aerospace. However, during my time at Vast, I discovered my passion for working with talent in the space industry. I am excited to further explore this passion and continue learning from the team at K2.
Outside of work, you can find me running (I recently completed my first half marathon), spending time with my friends and family, hiking, reading, or picking up new hobbies. Currently, my favorite hobby is crocheting!
What was your first memory of space?
When I was a child, I had the opportunity to go on a family trip to rural Vietnam, where I witnessed the stars for the first time with minimal light pollution. The sight left me awe-struck by the vastness of the stars. This experience gave me a new perspective on the universe, and I have been enamored with the night sky ever since.
What space application are you most excited for moving forward?
One area that excites me the most is the advancement of satellite technology for communication and navigation. The prospect of satellites providing global internet coverage is incredibly exciting to me because it has the power to transform how we connect with each other and the world around us.
