The urgency is clear, and the call for action resonates deeply in the heart of Indonesia's Central Kalimantan Province. The recent Al Jazeera documentary paints a vivid picture of the escalating environmental crisis, with hotspots multiplying, firefighters battling the relentless force of wildfires, and the looming threat of deforestation. 🔥 FIRE AND DEFORESTATION: Witnessing the devastation caused by fires in 2015, thousands of hectares of land burnt, respiratory diseases plaguing communities, and the irreversible loss of biodiversity. The very essence of life, culture, and identity is at stake. 🛑 THE BATTLE AGAINST TIME: This is not merely a battle against fire; it's a race against time and a struggle against a system that perpetuates deforestation. The need for immediate action is apparent, and we cannot afford to be passive observers. 🤝 JOIN THE MOVEMENT: - Spread Awareness: Share the video and the call to action with your networks. Let the world know about the environmental crisis in Central Kalimantan. - Support Indigenous Rights: Stand with the indigenous communities fighting for their rights against companies contributing to deforestation. Your voice matters. - Environmental Conservation: Contribute to initiatives that aim to protect and preserve the land. Support local projects and campaigns. 🌍 THE POWER OF UNITY: Together, we can be the force that turns the tide. From securing land rights to measuring air quality and fostering sustainable practices, our collective actions can shape a brighter future. 🔗 TAKE THE FIRST STEP: Whether you're an environmental advocate, a conscious consumer, or someone deeply moved by the cause, your actions matter. Let's work hand in hand to ensure the forests of Central Kalimantan thrive for generations to come. 🙌 NOW IS THE TIME. ACT. UNITE. PROTECT. 🌏 #EnvironmentalProtection #DeforestationAwareness #IndigenousRights #ConservationEfforts #CentralKalimantanCrisis #ClimateAction #SustainableFuture https://lnkd.in/emjYeYjv

Pacific indigenous leaders, including the Māori King, today urged the legal recognition of whales as persons with inherent rights. “Their songs are the very heartbeat of the ocean, and their presence reflects the strength of our own mana (spiritual essence). We have a responsibility to ensure their survival for generations to come.” “This fund will empower Indigenous communities, the natural guardians of our shores, and support initiatives aligned with the declaration’s goals. Together, we can create a Hinemoana Halo, a woven cloak of protection for these taonga (treasures), our whales.” It's from colonialism and the loss of wisdom from our ancestors that enable today's accepted culture of cognitive dissonance with the living world. The wisdom of our ancestors has a value of the highest importance, sustaining life on earth and living in harmony. Which we've clearly forgotten, otherwise these beautiful creatures would not need legal protection. #climatecrisis #biodiversityloss #indigenouspeoples https://lnkd.in/eCXsJzi2

Malaysia's commitment to sustainable palm oil production also plays a crucial role in mitigating deforestation. By promoting sustainable agricultural practices and working closely with local communities and stakeholders, Malaysia is fostering a balance between economic development and environmental conservation. An essential part of this commitment is adherence to the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil certification, which guarantees that palm oil production meets stringent environmental and social standards. #NSTBusinessTimes Read 'Reforesting for the future of elephants and orangutans' here: https://lnkd.in/grhpNpu7

💙 Indigenous and Traditional Peoples are responsible for protecting 1/3 of the forests in Brazil. Valuing and protecting these communities is crucial for preserving the forest, regardless of the size of each group. Today, we’ll showcase some of the largest communities here in Brazil. However, it’s worth noting that there are about 272 recognized indigenous peoples in the country, each with its own language, culture, and history, representing a rich cultural diversity. The Yanomami, Guarani, and Tikuna are some of the largest of these groups. Have you heard of them? #localcommunities #tropicalforest #indigenouscommunities #climateaction

Coastal lagoons, sabkhas and salinas are constantly contested places, while themselves being in a constant state of evolution and dissolution. This independant documentary provides a clear insight into one such clash of priorities, between the need for flat land versus the need for retreat from sea level rise, the need for regional development versus the conservation of nature and the rights of aeroplanes versus birds. I am intending to visit these lagoons in Albania, after attending the INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR SALT LAKE RESEARCH INC conference in Türkiye, later this year, as these lagoons have much in common with some of our Australian coastal wetlands. https://lnkd.in/gvPFSZ-d

EXPLORING THE CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF SEPIK WETLANDS The Sepik Wetlands in Papua New Guinea are a vital cultural and ecological treasure. Encompassing the Sepik River, one of the largest and most pristine river systems globally, these wetlands are home to diverse wildlife and are deeply interwoven with the lives of local indigenous communities. The Sepik people rely on the wetlands for their spiritual beliefs, traditional practices, and everyday sustenance. Intricate wood carvings, ceremonial rituals, and rich oral storytelling traditions are all derived from the natural resources of the wetlands. These cultural practices help maintain a strong community identity and contribute to the preservation of the region’s unique biodiversity. The Sepik Wetlands are not just a habitat but a living cultural landscape, essential for both people and nature. #CulturalHeritage #SepikWetlands #IndigenousTraditions

Question: Has China no part of the sea? Is it only land? Answer: According to the true will of God, there is no such thing as ownership by a person or group or country; it is stewardship instead of ownership. Stewardship means what is found in where you live or operate belongs to your responsibility to harness TO BE EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED TO ALL NATIONS ACCORDING TO THEIR NEEDS!
