Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) - MRI of a 20-year-old female reveals urinary retention due to L5/S1 disc herniation and resultant CES. The grossly distended bladder is visualized as increased signal on T2WIs and decreased signal on T1WI. The patient underwent emergent lumbar discectomy and achieved full recovery. Have you done this before? Endoscopic applications in #spinal #trauma.. . It took some planning but I think it was worth the effort. Here's what I did: 1- anterior approach 2- fracture reduction and fixation 3- posterior approach & fracture removal 4- posterior exiting nerve root decompression Here's why I did it: 1- patient's weakness 2- patient's radiculopathy 3- anterior approach well tolerated 4- posterior approach would be more levels 4b- b/c of the cervicothoracic junction and fracture What do you think??
