Last month, TikTok said it was rolling out a tool that would let brands create ads of real people powered by generative AI on its platform. In the announcement post, TikTok said the new tools are “designed to enhance and amplify human imagination, not replace it.” All videos created using TikTok’s new tool will be labeled as AI-generated, the company said when it announced the news. A number of companies plan to wait on the sidelines when it comes to TikTok’s new AI influencer tool, as it raises questions about authenticity and customer engagement. In an April survey of 1,000 consumers in the U.S. from The Influencer Marketing Factory - Influencer Marketing Agency, 32% of respondents were skeptical about the authenticity of AI-powered content creators when asked why they didn’t follow virtual influencers on social media. Nevertheless, such AI influencers have entered the mainstream, with 53% of participants saying they followed at least one virtual content creator. https://lnkd.in/e-iahZrz #digitalmouth #AIadvertising #influencermarketing

He believes that video AI tools will democratise the whole process of content creation. Bhuvaneswar stated that currently, a significant portion of influencers focus on entertainment or lifestyle content, with fewer influencers specialising in niche segments like business or tech reviews. Entertainment content is naturally visually appealing and gets a larger share of screen time from the audience.

The impact of AI influencers on Instagram is incredible! In 2023, 1.32 billion users followed AI influencers, making up over 27% of the total user base. Marketers are exploring the humanisation of brands through AI entities, and it's fascinating to see how virtual influencers offer lifelike interactions with the help of creative assets and continuous machine learning. Brands like KFC and Clueless are already experimenting with AI influencers. In my opinion, the potential for this approach, despite its challenges, is huge and likely in favour of early adopters. It's an exciting time for marketers as they navigate these challenges and blend AI with human creativity to tap into this incredible opportunity! #AIInfluencers #BrandMarketing #Instagram
