Calling all car park attendants! Bear with........we've all sat there at a barrier waiting to be let into somewhere. Often we can be patient, we can press buttons, try and talk to someone, give in our information but still the barrier stays down. We need that one person to focus on us at the right time and raise the barrier and let us in. Well that can be the same with someone wanting to find employment. To start a career. They can have many barriers to entry and sometimes through no fault of their own they're sat at a barrier just waiting. Unsure how to progress. At ITG we're proud to be car park attendants. We want to raise as many barriers for as many people as possible. But what we need are more employers. Employers who can give people a chance. Employers who can help raise barriers for individuals with the right attitude. If you want to be a car park attendant please get in touch and lets fill car parks across the region. Attitude over experience. Social value recruitment. #socialvalue #socialvaluerecruitment #employability #jobs

TIP OF THE DAY When applying for jobs: After speaking with many crew over the last few months, it appears that a lot of crew agencies are advising crew whether they are new or old to the industry to just "apply for as many as you can" when it comes to job applications. Well we are here to advise you that this is wrong and completely unprofessional information being given by these contacts. To simply apply for every single job that matches your department regardless of your experience and qualifications it going to send you down a long and winding road of disappointment that could easily be avoided. When a job advert is created, it is based upon information and requests that have been given to agencies by their clients. The agencies then have to follow them instructions in full otherwise it is defeating the object of what the clients have asked for. For example: If a client asks for a Lead Deckhand with 2 years experience minimum within the yachting industry, then 2 years minimum is what is required. Straight away this simple line helps agents to disregard any applicants that do not have 2 years experience minimum within the yachting industry. So for candidates to still apply without this experience is only setting you up for disappointment. Applying in numbers does not work as some will claim, but it does build up more frustration for crew in the long run because this is what they have been advised to do and wrongly so. Yotspot is a classic example of candidates just pressing the apply button for around 10 jobs a day and still not receiving any feedback. Once again if you do not read the advert in full then there's a chance you will not be considered. And to add to that, you are preventing someone else's application being looked at who may very well be the perfect fit for the job. We get it, we understand the struggle within this great industry to land a job sometimes. But to save disappointment and more importantly to keep your mind in a good place, we will always suggest to read every job advert in full before you apply. And we advise only, to apply only for the jobs that you are qualified for. We understand that not everyone will agree with this, or follow this advice, but we feel that it is our duty to make sure that all candidates out there should be made aware of the reality rather than the assumption. We hope that this helps you in some way, and we look forward to working with you all in the near future. Design, development and delivery of specialist projects in the yachting sector. Volunteer Ambassador Yachts For Science.
May in the South of France means its peak dock walking season for aspiring yacht crew members. Reflecting on the start of my own journey in the superyacht sector some years ago, below are some useful tips we shared with some ‘greenies’ in Antibes yesterday. ⚡️Differentiate yourself with unique skills and experiences. ⚡️A positive attitude and willingness to learn are crucial. ⚡️Understand recruiter, crew and client challenges to add value. ⚡️Anticipate needs for top-notch service. ⚡️Show commitment by staying informed and asking questions. ⚡️Skills in content creation such as photography and video editing are a plus. ⚡️Highlight complementary skills, hobbies and past jobs. ⚡️Don't be misled by TV shows like Below Deck. ⚡️Try to be aware of work environments and culture during interviews. ⚡️Additional boating qualifications enhance your profile. Discover the full article here https://lnkd.in/gpcSFjRd Did I miss anything, are they any other key pieces of advice? #yachtcrew #superyachtjobs #dockwalking

Boosting team morale one inflatable flamingo at a time!🦩 We all know the importance of great team morale. But just how are you supporting them, how are you keeping morale high? 🤔 For me, I wanted to take us as high as we could go. Which involved a flight. And a sunny holiday in Ibiza. Because I am in a fortunate place to be able to do this for the team. 😀 I love spending time with them. 😀 Our relationships don’t stop when the working day does. I am lucky to have them. Well not lucky, I’m a recruiter…and a good one who knows how to hire. But I couldn’t ask for a better team!😀 And if you’re looking for a close-knit talented team for your organisation, let’s have a chat.😉 #Hiring #Recruitment #RecruitmentAgency
