Travelodge is teaming up with US fast food Popeye's owned by Restaurant Brands International (TSX:QSR, NYSE:QSR), to bring a drive-thru service to its Northampton Sixfields site, following suit of several other companies that have teamed up with the budget hotel in recent years. More than one-third of Travelodge sites now operate as a mixed development scheme, meaning in some cases the hotels come attached with coffee shops, supermarkets, offices, surgeries, retailers, or even drive-thrus. Having already signed deals with companies like Waitrose, Aldi, Co-op, Greggs, Starbucks, and Green Hill Pubs, Travelodge is hoping to work with around 220 local authorities to open 300 new hotels, which it claims will help “stimulate regeneration” up and down the UK. 💖 Love this from team Boojum 🌟 Inspired by Gavin Rothwell and Matt Cundrick retail safaris, I had boots on the ground scoping hospitality businesses to visit in Leeds in a similar vain, and I came across this 'order of service' near the entrance to the new and recently opened Boojum 👌 Perfect! 👀 I can see: ✅️ What are the menu items ✅️ How much does the menu items cost ✅️ How to build / design my order ✅️ How I might control my spend and/or value engineer if my budget is tight ✅️ A clear 'order of service'; I know what I am meant to do when I go inside 😬 Some guests may not try or go into a store if they don't have confidence as to what to expect. There is an anxiousness, an 'oh, I'm not sure' expression or feeling 🌯 This is a cute way of putting to rest these feelings and, possibly [I haven't tried yet], mitigating the 'invisible line of commitment' or the 'apron of apprehension' from inside the store [ https://lnkd.in/epFhSRMx ] 👍 I'm even more looking forward to my trip out next week now #restaurants #hospitality #qsr #fastcasual #operationsexcellence #operationsdirector #OperationsGuru #brand #OpsEx #operations #opentowork

"The Power of Collaboration: Texas Roadhouse and Saxton Group-Jaggers Restaurant Echo Fourriere Hospitality Group CEO’s Vision" As we witness the dynamic landscape of the hospitality industry, the essence of collaboration has never been more crucial. The recent partnership between Texas Roadhouse and Jaggers Restaurant is a brilliant example of this. It's a testament to what our CEO at Fourriere Hospitality Group has emphasized for a long time - the power of collaboration between large and smaller brands to create or expand a market. Texas Roadhouse, a well-established name in the industry, teaming up with the Saxton Group-Jaggers Restaurant, a smaller yet innovative player, is a move that leverages the strengths of both. It combines Texas Roadhouse's vast reach and operational expertise with Jaggers' unique niche and innovative approach. This collaboration is set to redefine the market, enlighten customer experiences, and reshape the industry's future. This type of collaboration or partnership isn't just confined to the larger playing field. It's an opportunity waiting to happen in the urban arena as well. The urban hospitality sector is a melting pot of diverse cultures, tastes, and experiences. It thrives on innovation, and when larger brands collaborate with smaller, unique brands, it opens up a plethora of opportunities. The urban market is ripe for such partnerships. The key, however, is to streamline the lines of communication to the decision-makers of large brands. These decision-makers need to recognize the potential that smaller, unique brands possess and how their fresh perspectives can help drive growth and innovation. At Fourriere Hospitality Group, we've always believed in the power of collaboration. Our CEO has long advocated for partnerships that bring together different brands to create a unique niche or expand existing markets. The Texas Roadhouse and Jaggers collaboration is a reaffirmation of this belief. We are delighted to see our vision being mirrored in such successful collaborations and look forward to seeing more of these partnerships in the future. We remain committed to fostering an environment that encourages collaboration and innovation, pushing the boundaries of the hospitality industry for a brighter future. #Hospitality #Collaboration #Innovation #Partnerships #TexasRoadhouse #Jaggers #FourriereHospitalityGroup #Hooters #HOA #ojoslocos #randydewitt

It may be stating the obvious, but creativity and innovation are going to be vital if hospitality businesses are to succeed in this ever-evolving, competitive and demanding marketplace. So it was good that so many operators and suppliers met up at Oxford Brookes University last week to share perspectives on driving innovation across the sector. The augural Hospitality Innovation Day was devised by the Hospitality Sector Council and the Innovation Working Group and hosted by the chair of Caravan, Red Engine and Turtle Bay, Jane O'Riordan. As well as being a catalyst for ideas, it was also a demonstration to Government of the creativity, drive and ability to collaborate that there is in the sector. Let’s hope the initiative continues after the election. Many of the challenges may be familiar: - #People - Customer #experience - #Technology - Access to #investment It’s finding different ways to approach these issues that will change things.
Multi-site operators such as BURGER KING UK, WINGSTOP UK (Lemon Pepper Holdings Ltd) , and Rosa's Thai discussed opportunities and challenges in the market, including engaging Gen Z team members, experiential vs transactional service levels, and integrating tech suppliers. MCA was reporting at the inaugural accelerator event run by Jane O'Riordan as part of the Hospitality Sector Council https://lnkd.in/ea6X6hQV

It’s not all shiny restaurants and vibey venues at onepoint2. We take pride in the network that we’ve built, and the knack that we have developed to connect people and places, and to add value very quickly. What seemed like an off-hand comment, a footnote to one conversation with our client Amy Poon Mackenzie actually became the main event of the call. As their business grows, with a restaurant site on the way, Amy mentioned that they’d love to find a small light industrial facility for storage, production and, ideally, somewhere with a group of likeminded independent food businesses, and maybe even a place where tenants rolled up their shutters from time to time to sell to the general public. Amy didn’t suppose that there were many such locations - but it turns out that we had the key to the door of one of them, and I connected the dots immediately. Because we are also proud to represent the iconic Monmouth Coffee Company (have we ever mentioned that we love coffee?), who carefully manage the Spa Terminus estate in Bermondsey. There, they protect the mix of artisans and independent food businesses, opening up the doors now and then, precisely as Amy had described. Almost instantly, we introduced Poon’s to the opportunity and facilitated a speedy deal. Not our biggest deal, but a proud example of how the network and market knowledge that we have developed over years in the business saved our client valuable time trawling the market looking at different light industrial units (come on, not exactly a barrel of laughs) to focus on accelerating the business unimpeded, with delicious, authentic Chinese delights. #property #leisure #hospitality #opportunitiesunlocked #onepoint2
