What a great week celebrating all things #Donegal starting with #LoveDonegalDay on Thursday reaching almost 80 million people globally. On Friday we had the #DisruptbytheSea shark tank event at Rathmullan House where international investors had an opportunity to meet six of Irelands best start-ups. Congratulations to Emma Meehan and Shaun McVeigh from Sports Precision on winning $100,000 investment and to the other start-ups Marie Burke Celetonn Kieran Supple, MBA Reap Interactive Ltd, Denis Roche E-Altro , Cathal Sheridan, Huku Balance and Gary Gallagher OptaHaul all who received really positive endorsement from the investors along with valuable advice and insights on their journey to success. And on Saturday evening we had the privilege of hosting the 2023 Tip O'Neill Irish Diaspora Awards where John Fries, Caroline McLaughlin and Prof William Campbell were recognised for their outstanding achievements in their areas of expertise and most especially for generously giving back to their communities and the Irish diaspora in the course of their lives. I'd like to thank our wonderful team in Donegal County Council and Alpha Innovation for all their hard work, dedication and uptmost commitment to making these initiatives a success. These are all important parts of the jigsaw that helps make Donegal and the North West City Region a great place to live, work, invest, visit and study in. As always thanks to all our partners, supporters and ambassadors in making these initiatives a success. #DonegalIrelandsDNA Kevin Sexton Conor Doherty Elaine Whoriskey Joy Browne Daniel M. We're thrilled to introduce Njord Amundsen, the first in a series of four 32m Crew Transfer Vessels. After a successful transit from ARES Shipyard in Antalya, Turkey, to Grimsby, Njord Amundsen has now started offshore wind operations! Andrew Thwaites has, once again, done an outstanding job on the supervision and a huge thank you to our dedicated crew for their hard work and seamless efforts in bringing our newest vessel home. Transforming Safety in the Marine Industry: We continuously innovate our gangway products to address real-world challenges related to personal safety and crew efficiency when deploying the gangway. Recently, we designed a rail adaptor for our 'Vessel to Vessel' gangway to facilitate deployment between two of our Killybegs RSW super trawlers. In this scenario, the gangway needed to be deployed over the whaleback of both vessels. This solution was developed by MMG design engineers in collaboration with the client, taking into consideration the challenges they faced. The product was then manufactured using high-impact digital CNC technology.
