The start of a new month marks the end of Pride Month 2024 so lets recap what we learnt this month: As individuals from diverse backgrounds, it is natural for us to have different perspectives on Pride Month. However, it was crucial for us to also recognise the privileges we may hold and the experiences of marginalised communities. Pride Month goes beyond being a mere celebration. It served as an opportunity for all of us to reflect on our own biases, educate ourselves about the challenges faced by the LGBTQ community, and actively contribute to the movement for inclusivity and acceptance. By taking the time to understand the struggles, discrimination, and resilience of the LGBTQ community, we were able to foster empathy and compassion. Pride Month encouraged us to stand in solidarity with those who have faced adversity due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. But for us, it goes further than this, it is Inclusivity that lies at the heart of the LGBTQ movement and is a fundamental value we must uphold during Pride Month and beyond. It means recognising that diversity extends beyond sexual orientation and gender identity, encompassing race, ethnicity, religion, ability, and more. Inclusivity is about creating spaces where all individuals feel seen, heard, and valued, about fostering a sense of belonging and actively working to dismantle barriers that prevent equal opportunities and representation. We used this month as a reminder to embrace inclusivity in all aspects of our lives, championing equality and 'pride' for all. #PrideMonth #Pride2024 #Inclusion #WeAreMLC

Our Founder and CEO Caroline Fox shares her thoughts on how our values reflect the spirit of Pride Month, as we continue to celebrate: 'We are a family business having been around for 30 years in 2025! We see diversity in our workforce not only as a social obligation but also as “good business”. As a provider of services to the wider public, it helps us to understand the attitudes, hopes and challenges that arise across the social spectrum. We therefore aspire to reflect that diversity in our workforce. We foster an environment of inclusivity, respect, and support for all. Obviously, as this is Pride month we support the LGBTQ community and all minority groups. It doesn't matter who you are, or your background, if you want to make a difference to people’s lives, that’s all that matters to us. Here’s how these values align with the spirit of Pride Month Inclusivity: Embracing the “we care” value means creating a welcoming space for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. This translates to actively including LGBTQ voices and experiences in conversations and initiatives. Support: “We care” signifies a commitment to supporting each other through challenges and celebrations. This could involve providing resources, assistance, and advocacy for LGBTQ rights and well-being. Education: Caring about the community involves educating oneself and others about the history, struggles, and achievements of the LGBTQ community. Pride month is an opportunity to learn and share knowledge to combat ignorance and prejudice. Visibility: Showing care includes raising awareness and visibility for issues that affect the LGBTQ community. Pride month is a time to highlight the importance of representation and to celebrate diversity openly Solidarity: Standing in solidarity with the LGBTQ community is a powerful expression of the “we care” value. It’s about joining hands with LGBTQ individuals during Pride Month to show unity and strength against discrimination.' #TwinGroup #PrideMonth #Pride #Support #Values

Director at Mist LGBTQ Foundation | Mr Gay India 2020 | Core team LGBTQ Affairs at All India Professional Cong
In every corner of society, there are individuals with unique stories, identities, and struggles. For many in the LGBTQ community, the journey of self-discovery and acceptance is often shrouded in fear and uncertainty. The decision to come out of the closet is deeply personal and can be daunting, especially in environments where acceptance is not guaranteed. At MIST LGBTQ Foundation, we recognize the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces where everyone feels empowered to embrace their true selves. We understand that the fear of rejection, discrimination, or lack of understanding from family, friends, and colleagues can weigh heavily on individuals who are considering coming out. Workplaces play a pivotal role in shaping the experiences of LGBTQ individuals. When organizations foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and support, they not only attract diverse talent but also cultivate a sense of belonging for everyone. Colleagues who show empathy, understanding, and allyship create a ripple effect of acceptance that can positively impact the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ employees. We urge businesses and coworkers alike to champion inclusivity by educating themselves, fostering open dialogue, and advocating for policies that promote equality and diversity. By creating environments where individuals can be their authentic selves without fear of judgment, we pave the way for a more compassionate and understanding world. Let's break the silence, amplify LGBTQ voices, and work together to build a future where everyone can thrive, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. #LGBTQInclusion #Empowerment #InclusiveWorkplaces #Allyship #DiversityandInclusion #BreakTheSilence #MISTLGBTQFoundation

A SoapBox Moment... PRIDE 🏳️🌈 Beyond a Month, but a daily movement for Equity and Inclusion As Pride Month draws to a close, it's important to remember that for the LGBTQ community, pride is not just a celebration confined to June. It's a vibrant, ongoing movement that permeates daily life, advocating for equity and inclusion for all. Pride began as a commemoration of the Stonewall Riots in 1969, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ history when individuals rose up against police discrimination. Since then, it has evolved into a global symbol of courage, resilience, and the fight for equality. Yet, the essence of pride extends far beyond the parades and rainbow flags that mark the month. For many LGBTQ individuals, pride is about living authentically every day, often in the face of adversity. It's about embracing one's true self despite societal pressures and prejudices. It's about challenging discriminatory laws and policies that deny basic rights and freedoms. It's about advocating for inclusive spaces where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can thrive without fear of discrimination or violence. Pride is a reminder that the struggle for equality is ongoing. It's about amplifying diverse voices within the community – from transgender individuals fighting for recognition and respect to queer people of color demanding intersectional justice. It's about standing in solidarity with those who face multiple forms of discrimination and marginalization. Moreover, pride is a call to action for allies and advocates everywhere. It's a rallying cry to support LGBTQ rights, whether through policy advocacy, workplace inclusion efforts, or everyday acts of kindness and understanding. It's about recognizing that true progress towards equality requires collective effort and unwavering commitment. As we bid farewell to Pride Month, let's carry its spirit forward throughout the year. Let's continue to celebrate diversity, challenge prejudice, and strive for a world where everyone can live openly and authentically. Because pride is more than a month – it's a movement that demands our ongoing dedication to equity and inclusion for all. #PrideMonth #BeYou #BeYourself

As we embark on Pride Month, it’s crucial to delve beyond the festivities and recognize the profound significance of this commemoration. Pride Month pays homage to the LGBTQ community’s journey, tracing its roots to the pivotal Stonewall Riots of 1969—a catalyst for global advocacy and change. While strides have been made, the journey towards equality remains incomplete. Disturbing statistics underscore the challenges faced by LGBTQ individuals, particularly youth. Alarmingly, LGBTQ youth are disproportionately affected by homelessness, mental health issues, and bullying. Studies reveal that LGBTQ youth are more than four times as likely to attempt suicide compared to their heterosexual peers—a sobering reminder of the urgent need for support and acceptance. In the workplace, LGBTQ employees continue to grapple with discrimination and bias. Shockingly, nearly half of LGBTQ employees remain closeted at work due to fear of repercussions. This not only stifles individual growth but also hampers organizational diversity and innovation. True progress demands more than passive acceptance—it requires active allyship. Being an ally means advocating for LGBTQ rights, amplifying their voices, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels safe and respected. Allies play a pivotal role in fostering environments where LGBTQ individuals can thrive authentically. By honoring Pride Month and championing LGBTQ rights, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive society—one where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live with dignity and equality. As we celebrate Pride Month, let’s stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ community, uplift LGBTQ youth, and strive to create workplaces where diversity is cherished and celebrated. Together, as allies, we can pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈 Everybody say Loveee, Drew Garner, He/Him/Ally #SayGay #PrideMonth #Ally #Diversity #WorkplaceSafe #HR #Equality #Inclusion

As we step into #PrideMonth, it’s a moment to celebrate love, diversity, and the strides we've made toward equality. But it's also a time to reflect on the challenges that still persist for the LGBTQ community. For many of us, including myself, the journey to self-acceptance has been long and difficult. Coming from an extremely conservative background, I faced years of inner struggle, humiliation, suicidal thoughts, and self-denial. Overcoming these challenges without significant emotional support has shaped my resilience and deepened my empathy. Pride Month holds immense significance in today's world. It is a powerful reminder of the progress we've made and the work that still needs to be done. It’s about honoring those who fought bravely for the rights we have today and those who continue to fight against discrimination and inequality. This month is a call to action for everyone. It's about creating inclusive spaces where individuals can be their authentic selves without fear. It's about recognizing the unique struggles and contributions of LGBTQ individuals and advocating for a world where everyone is accepted and celebrated for who they are. In our communities, let’s amplify LGBTQ voices, educate ourselves and others, and stand up against prejudice and discrimination. Pride is not just a celebration; it’s a statement of solidarity, resilience, and love. It's a declaration that everyone deserves to live with dignity and pride in who they are. Here’s to celebrating this Pride Month with joy, compassion, and a renewed commitment to making the world a more inclusive place for all. 🏳️🌈 #Pride2024 #LoveIsLove #Inclusion #Diversity #CelebratePride #EqualityForAll #LGBTQ #Pride #out365 #DiversityAndInclusion #safespaces

As Pride Month came to a close, I was compelled to reflect on the enduring struggle for equality and justice. Reflect on my friends and loved ones struggles. The rich history, resilience, and contributions of the LGBTQ community deserve recognition and celebration far beyond the confines of June. It is a year-round commitment to uphold and advance these values. In our workplaces, the quest for diversity, equity, and inclusion is more than a checklist; it is the bedrock of innovation and creativity. When we embrace our differences and allow everyone to bring their full selves to the table, our collective strength is amplified. Yet, we find ourselves at a critical juncture. The current Supreme Court situation has underscored the uphill battle we face. This moment demands that we push our legislative leaders to act and, crucially, that we exercise our right to vote—not just in presidential elections, but in every election. Progress, no matter how incremental or imperfect, is essential. Even if the choices are not ideal, forward movement is the only path to justice. Let us continue to advocate for policies that protect LGBTQ rights, foster inclusive environments, and amplify marginalized voices. True allyship means standing up, speaking out, and taking concrete actions every day. Together, we can create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Pride is more than a month; it is a relentless pursuit of equality and justice. #Pride2024 #LGBTQ #DiversityandInclusion #EqualityForAll #VoteForProgress #vote #pride

🌈 Celebrating Pride Month: Why It Matters to Me 🌈 As Pride Month begins, I find myself reflecting on the significance of this time for both the LGBTQ community and for me personally. This month is a celebration of love, acceptance, and the ongoing fight for equality. For me, Pride Month is a reminder of the importance of inclusivity in every aspect of our lives. It’s also important to reflect on how far we have come. I grew up in a small country town in the 80’s and 90’s. Discovering who I was, was not easy and did not come without its challenges. I have been bullied, harassed and even discriminated against. However, none of this has stopped me in continuing to pave the path for others and work towards creating a safe space for everyone to be themselves. I know that acceptance and support can change lives. Friends and family members who are part of the LGBTQ community have shown me the strength it takes to live authentically and the beauty that can come from being true to oneself. In my professional journey, I’ve strived to create and support environments where everyone feels safe and valued, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. I believe that diversity is not just a goal, but a strength that drives innovation and fosters a sense of belonging. This Pride Month, I encourage all of us to: 1. Listen and Learn: Open our hearts and minds to the experiences of the LGBTQ community. Their stories are powerful and deserve to be heard. 2. Support and Advocate: Whether through allyship, volunteering, or advocating for inclusive policies, let’s take tangible steps to make a difference. 3. Celebrate Authenticity: Embrace and celebrate our own identities and those of others. Let’s create spaces where everyone can thrive as their true selves. Together, we can build a more inclusive and compassionate world. Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈 #PrideMonth #LGBTQ #Inclusion #Diversity #Equality #Pride2024
