With summer on the horizon, most schools are about to end for the year. However, that shouldn’t mean that students should stop experiencing new things and enrich their experience. Especially if you plan to apply for a 4 year university, to boost your chances of acceptance you should try taking part in extracurricular opportunities during your summer break. Today, we’d like to share a few examples of these activities you could take part in during summer break. -Volunteering at an Old Age Home: From personal experience, this is a very enjoyable way to spend any free time you have. If you can find memory care centers or old age homes in your area, the residents of these places tend to really enjoy spending time with younger people that they don’t see very often. You can also engage in many activities including little games and arts and crafts which can be fun for you too! -Internships: It’s not easy to find a lot of internships, especially on short notice, however, with a little research there are so many open opportunities you are bound to find some in your area. We recommend using LinkedIn or even just google to search up any potential opportunities while you have time during the summer. -Online courses: Taking online courses or workshops can help students expand their knowledge and skills in various areas. Online courses are self-paced and are more affordable than classroom based courses. They help show students initiative and commitment towards lifelong learning. -Instilt Educate: Of course we had to save the best for last, Instilt is an amazing way to spend your time over the summer. You can volunteer remotely and build the times you have to do work around your schedule. You can also be a part of a fantastic organization of people that are making a difference when it comes to global education. #CommunityService #Fundraising #Volunteering #NGO #SocialGood #Sustainability #ImpactInvesting #Donations #Causes #GiveBack #SupportNonprofits #NonprofitSector #Advocacy #VolunteerWork #SummerVolunteer #VolunteerOpportunities #MakeADifference #CollegeResume #CareerAdvice #ResumeTips #ProfessionalDevelopment #ResumeWriting #CareerDevelopment #StudentLife #CollegeTips #InterviewTips #JobHunting #CareerSkills #Employability #ResumeAdvice #CareerPreparation #JobMarket #CareerGuidance #ResumeHelp

💕Loving the relationships we have nurtured in our #community. Partnering with charitable organizations year-round, translates to enduring, reciprocal bonds. 💡Often, we exchange the most amazing ideas, connections and resources! Team ClearVision Optical extends outreach to include so many #universities🎓 and governmental groups. 👩🔬We conduct #innovative research, develop training programs, host #internships, participate in designing curriculum and support future leaders. 🐝Interestingly, when networks cross-pollinate and fascinating people are introduced, the most amazing😁 things can happen. We give back as part of our company #values and in pursuit of our #mission, To Make Each Day Better for Someone else. 🤯What may be less obvious is the tremendous sharing of #creativity, particularly among like-minded organizations. 🔮Curious learners unite at CVO and via training grants, we have designed countless workshops to ready us for the workplace of tomorrow. We have made great new friends🤝 from these endeavors! 🧦Notably, we became acquainted with Mark X. Cronin from John's Crazy Socks, after learning that they too operate with #purpose-driven 💗leadership. 🏣John and his team had a blast during our work home #culture tour. 😎Turns out he knows how to make magic in our #eyewear Distribution Center and our crew adored dancing with him. 🕶️So excited to debut a collaboration #sunglass sock that is sure to knock our team’s socks off! We are already passing ideas, best practices and contacts because that is what friends do. We also introduced them to our buddies at the Small Giants Community. Extreme fun hosted by Alyssa, Madalyn, Bruny, Seth and looking forward to introducing David, peter, Stephen, Galaxina, Barbara, Ecco, Theresa and many others. #BestCompanyToWork #CommunityConnections #CuriousLearners #PurposeDrivenLeadership #CultureTour #EyewearMagic #CollaborationCelebration #BestPracticesExchange #SmallGiantsCommunity #TeamAppreciation

🫱🏿🫲🏼Partnership Architect & Consultant: Driving Disruption in Corporate-Nonprofit Collaboration and Creating Innovative Alliances for Impact💡🚀
It's no secret that #companies that invest in their #localcommunities succeed in the long run. Connecting with the community is a valuable way to build trust, create relationships, and make a positive impact on the world around you. It's an opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to social responsibility and make a lasting impression on customers, partners, and employees alike. Plus, it is an excellent way to gain feedback, understand customer needs, and gain valuable insights. Here are 7 ways to build a stronger connection: 1. Get involved in local charities and causes. Volunteering your time and resources to help those in need is a great way to connect with your local community. 2. Start a dialogue with community leaders. Holding town hall meetings or creating an online forum to discuss local issues and engage in conversations with community members can help you better understand the needs and interests of your local community. 3. Sponsor local events. Show your support for the local community by sponsoring local events such as fundraisers, festivals, fairs, and sports tournaments. 4. Create an internship program. Offering internships to local students is a great way to give back to the community while providing them with valuable job experience. 5. Support local businesses. Show your commitment to the local economy by patronizing local businesses and utilizing them as suppliers or vendors - helping them to succeed. 6. Host local events such as workshops, classes, or seminars to share knowledge and expertise with the community. 7. Invite local politicians, community leaders, and other influential figures to participate in company events. #CommunityEngagement #PublicAffairs #CommunityRelations #PositiveImpact #SocialResponsibility #CompanyEngagement #LocalCommunitySupport #GivingBack #EngagingCommunities

For those who don’t know Urban Synergy, we’ve worked tirelessly with some 27,000 young people aged 9-24 to help them access education, degree apprenticeships, and work. Active across London and the UK, we connect those young people to inspirational role models (such as Parris Small, a Software Engineering Analyst at Goldman Sachs, shown) in the form of mentors who they can relate to, who help the young individuals gain access to education, internships and work experience. Then when they’re ‘work ready’ we connect them to companies that want to nurture and employ the next generation, particularly in the communities in which they operate. In other words, we help young people write their own futures. We couldn’t have done it without the support of people like Ben Goss CEO of Dynamic Planner who was one of our founding role models, mentors, and corporate board members as part of his passionate support for inclusive business. Today his company has the pick of Urban Synergy’s raw talent, young people who are bright, unique and hungry to succeed. Read more on the link below: https://lnkd.in/euZa-uxd If you would like to experience the joy of becoming a mentor, or want to partner with Urban Synergy to make your business more sustainable and attract young people to financial services, contact us.
