We are excited to announce an agreement with TA’ZIZ (owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company ("ADNOC"), Fertiglobe, and Korea’s GS Energy to commence construction of clean ammonia production facility in the United Arab Emirates, funded by a loan from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). The new plant at Al-Ruwais will incorporate facilities to capture and store CO2, enabling the production of one million tons per year of clean ammonia by 2030. Mitsui’s offtake volume will meet energy and industrial needs in Japan and other Asian markets, contributing to the development of a clean ammonia supply chain across the region to support decarbonization. Developing ammonia as a next-generation fuel that emits no CO2 on combustion is a key element of our Medium-term Management Plan 2026 which is geared towards supporting the Global Energy Transition. This project strengthens our commitment to finding sustainable fuel solutions and further enhances our collaboration with partners to build a decarbonized society.
