On 3 July, P2X-Europe GmbH & Co. KG held a pivotal meeting with a distinguished #Delegation from #Oman 🇴🇲represented by H.E. pankaj khimji and Firas Mohsin Al Balushi, and Wafa Ba’Omar and Moosa AlKharusi from InvestOMAN. This meeting marks a significant step towards realising P2X-Europe's vision of scaling up its worldwide #synthetic #renewable #hydrocarbons 🫧🌱production at commercial level, where Oman could play a decisive role. During the meeting, both parties engaged in productive discussions concerning best locations for #biomass 🌱and #green #hydrogen 🫧 production, the export of #PtL commodities, and exploring further touch points for collaboration. Remember: 2030 marks an important milestone highlighting the introduction of a 1.2 % #eSaf blending quota in the European aviation ✈️ market! So #why Oman 🇴🇲? Here’s some key facts: - Hydrocarbon production is playing an increasingly dominant role in Oman’s hitherto fossil fuel based traditional oil and gas economy 🏭. - Oman targets to become #net #zero by #2050 and is on track to become the sixth largest exporter 🚢 of hydrogen globally by #2030, as the country aims to significantly ramp up domestic production of hydrogen from renewable electricity ⚡️. -The country is well placed to produce large quantities of renewable hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels thanks to its high-quality renewable resources (both solar, PV and onshore wind), vast land availability, its existing pipeline infrastructure and a convenient export location for international markets 🌎. The region is turning into a battery storage hotspot. Recent projects include one for the Red Sea Global with a capacity of 1,700MWh and Amaala , 700MWh. EoIs are also due today for 400MW battery storage facility in Abu Dhabi. While the Red Sea BESS facility demonstrates the China-centric nature of the battery energy storage supply chain Huawei Digital Power @EVE Battery BYD, the region can potentially play a major role in developing lithium and battery storage solutions. Australia's EV Metals Group (EVM) Group (EVM) is developing a lithium chemicals plant, whose first phase is expected to cost $1.3bn, at Yanbu Industrial City in Saudi Arabia. China’s Guangzhou Tinci Materials Technology Co., Ltd plans to build a lithium-ion battery materials plant in Morocco. Maaden has signed an agreement with US-based Ivanhoe Electric to undertake exploration of the Arabian Shield zone in Saudi Arabia for high-demand minerals. Oman celebrated a significant milestone as it welcomed the world's inaugural liquefied hydrogen carrier vessel, the Suiso Frontier, at Muscat's Sultan Qaboos Port on Wednesday. This Japanese tanker, a product of Kawasaki Heavy Industries and operated by Shell Japan, embarked on its Middle East tour, bearing a cargo capacity of up to 1,250 cubic metres. Valued at nearly $359 million, the vessel serves as a research and development platform to advance hydrogen-related studies. Oman's Minister of Energy and Minerals, Salim Nasser Al Aufi, conducted a tour of the innovative ship. The nation's determination to become one of the world's premier hydrogen producers by 2030 has received commendation from the International Energy Agency, which also projected Oman as a potential major exporter of low-carbon hydrogen in the Middle East. Oman possesses abundant renewable energy sources and vast land, making it a suitable contender in the hydrogen landscape. The fuel is poised to play a pivotal role in the transition towards low-carbon economies and industries. Hydrogen is available in various forms, including blue, green, and grey, with green hydrogen derived from electrolysis of water molecules and considered an eco-friendly option.

EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson visited Oman during GREEN HYDROGEN SUMMIT & EXHIBITION OMAN to kickstart the EU-GCC Cooperation on Green Transition. Port of Antwerp-Bruges joined in a valuable round table with different EU companies active in Oman.
