On February 5, 2024, the publisher Toyo Keizai Inc. announced the results of the 18th Toyo Keizai CSR Rankings. The Toyo Keizai CSR Rankings evaluate 1,714 companies, examining their performance in various CSR aspects including "human resource utilization," "environmental practices," "corporate governance and social responsibility," and "financial performance" (profitability, safety, and scale). In the overall rankings, Mitsui & Co. became the first trading company to rank first. The company established its Sustainability Policy in 2021 and has been advancing its initiatives based on five materiality areas. Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) ranked second, and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) ranked third. In this survey, the percentage of companies answering "yes" to the question of "gender pay gap (whether there is a wage gap between male and female employees)" increased by 13.1 points from the previous survey, reaching 20.9%. As the number of companies responding to this question increased, the situation of the wage gap became clearer. Regarding "scenario analysis on climate change," the percentage of companies answering "yes" increased by 11.3 points from the previous survey to 62.3%. Congratulations PETRONAS Wan Sayuti Wan Hussin and PWC Kartina Abdul Latif team on today's launch of the Just Transition Report for Malaysia. This was a culmination of four roundtables this year on various pillars: Framework, Talents, Supply Chain and Communities. Glad to be part of the engagements. I was also encouraged to hear honest views on what "Just Transition" mean for our country. Alizakri Alias conveyed it well - we need to look at the social security aspects (eg education, mobility, food) and take the leadership role to engineer our own Asia-relevant Sustainability framework. I love his quote on StarTrek's "to live long and prosper". The theme of "Laying the Foundation for Just Transition " is apt. One reminder from the PETRONAS Group President and CEO: "The time to have the dialogues and conversations is about to end and it's time to act". good momentum to grow faster

Last week, I had the privilege of facilitating a workshop for our fantastic Asia Pacific team at the picturesque Awana Genting in Malaysia. The spirit of the workshop revolved around the core values of Brand Dorf Ketal. While the workshop spanned just a few days, the preparation process began a month prior. We followed the "3 A" model: 1. Assess: We started with a thorough needs assessment for the team, using a scientific approach to identify their strengths and development areas. By partnering with a world-class assessment tool, we ensured the most accurate and effective results. 2. Act: This phase involved one-on-one feedback and action planning. We curated the workshop content to address the performance gaps identified in the Assess phase. By working closely with stakeholders, we ensured the content aligned with broader pain points. 3. Apply: This phase marked the start of the experiential workshop, empowering participants to create their own learning journeys. We committed to supporting them with regular feedback, coaching, and online learning resources. The workshop featured experiential activities to allow the participants to learn as an adult. Participants included our business team members from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Empowerment and Care were the key themes, fostering a supportive and thriving work culture beyond the bottom line. This intervention is a testament to Dorf Ketal's strong merit-based culture and underscores our firm belief that investing in our talent is the key to building a sustainable business. By nurturing and developing our talent, we build a sustainable business foundation. This commitment helps us become the employer of choice, attracting and retaining top talent. 31/8/23 Merdeka Day Reflect --- Recently, in a #sustainability #roundtable, questions were asked by some #youth as to how #oilandgasindustry addresses #transition to #lowcarboneconomy. #decarbonization has 2 dimensions: 1. #abatable #CO2 that Group Procurement (up- and downstreams) of PETRONAS are actively pursuing. Malaysian Association of Public Advocacy for Nature (MAPAN) was fortunate to have been involved in all the previous #esg sessions in #westmalaysia. By #october 2023, with the session in #eastmalaysia, at least 1,000 of the #ogse vendors would have been exposed to the right mindset of physical #carbonreduction. 2. #unabatedcarbon is #emission that is unable to be removed without expensive technology of #cleanenergy within a short period of time. If abruptly, the #carbonremoval is done, it will means all #motorvehicles will have to be #ev. Literally, depriving everyone of the regular transports which they are used to, with plenty of resources wasted. #environmentalactivism of the younger generation is pushing the needle of #climateaction. Nevertheless, the broader perspective of the total economy must not be overlooked. This is where #passion and #compassion on #environmentalsocialandgovernance has to be balanced to avoid fracture of the social fabric to advance #disharmony. With half each of its #sustainability talent pool from academia and industry, Malaysian Association of Public Advocacy for Nature (MAPAN) roles of #esg knowledge hub and awareness centre are fitting and timely. Our subject matter experts of professors and professionals from 13 nationalities and 26 universities, 30% of them female, bear the inclusivity and intelligence required of #carbonneutrality. Short escape to BCG-X... Alhamdulillah, on a good Friday, August 11th, 2023. We had the opportunity to visit the BCG-X Campus in SG It was really great sharing session in BCG-X that we got insight how to convey innovative ideas, then build a solid team to make it happen, then continuing to become a start-up, until it becomes a business worth millions or even billions of dollars. The activity continued with a team building session containing "Perwira Pertamina" innovator from various functions to share ideas and how to make Pertamina a 100 billion company in 2034.
