Embark on an insightful exploration of cerebrovascular dynamics! In a recent comprehensive study, involving 759 cognitively unimpaired individuals of middle-aged and older demographics, utilized state-of-the-art four-dimensional flow MRI to unravel normative cerebrovascular flow rates. Intriguingly, age emerged as a commanding orchestrator, demonstrating robust correlations with blood flow rates and pulsatility indexes across major vessel segments. While no significant gender disparities surfaced in blood flow, the pulsatility exhibited notable elevation among female subjects. This research unveils nuanced aspects of intracranial hemodynamics, offering a sophisticated perspective on the interplay between age, gender, and cerebrovascular parameters. 📢 Exciting News! 🎉🔬 Our team(Dinushani Senarathna Andrea Ferro Byron Erath Sumona Mondal Tanvir Ahmed, MS @Mehtap ) is thrilled to announce the publication of our latest study on Comparing respiratory aerosol emissions between children and adults during sustained phonation published in #AS&T(American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR)). This study finds that age influences the size and quantity of respiratory particle emissions in humans during activities such as speaking, breathing, and vocalization. Findings indicate that children have lower emission rates and release smaller particles compared to adults. Therefore, incorporating age demographics into disease transmission models may improve their accuracy.
