Air Liquide's Normand'Hy Project will use Siemens Energy Silyzer300 electrolyzers! A quick look, BY THE NUMBERS: 1: The number one largest PEM electrolysis plant in execution in the world. 12: The project will utilize twelve Silyzer300 PEM electrolyzers, to be manufactured in Siemens Energy's Berlin Gigafactory. 200: Electrolysis capacity of 200MW will produce green hydrogen for the decarbonization of industry and mobility in the Port-Jérôme zone near Normandy, France. 2026: Commercial operation begins, delivering green H2 to nearby customers such as TotalEnergies, which has already signed an MOU for about half of Normand'Hy's hydrogen production for decarbonization of their Gonfreville refinery. 28,000: Production of 28,000 tons of renewable hydrogen will be produced yearly. 250,000: Significant environmental benefit by eliminating up to 250,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

💧 Can an industrial gas turbine be powered exclusively with green #hydrogen to produce high-efficiency electricity? Yes, with the right changes and the HyFlexPower project has just proven it. It is these days the news of the tests carried out on the first hydrogen turbine, the basic model of a future fleet of internal combustion engines suitable for the carrier. The initiative has a rich consortium that includes Siemens Energy, ENGIE through its subsidiary ENGIE Solutions, Centrax, Arttic, the German Aerospace Centre and four European universities: the National Technical University of Athens (Greece), the University of Lund (Sweden), Duisburg-Essen (Germany) and University College London. The partners, also thanks to funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 framework program for research and innovation, have built an electricity-hydrogen-electricity demonstrator in France, testing its efficiency and efficiency. Mitsubishi Power is focused on building the hydrogen economies of the future using #innovative solutions to enable low carbon energy systems. Tripling our global renewable energy capacity, to meet net zero targets, requires widespread #collaboration to not only #install new technologies but to increase #investment.  For Europe’s clean hydrogen market to accelerate, we need to increase the pace of projects reaching Final Investment Decision (FID). The #IEA estimates that only 3% (12GW) of green hydrogen projects have reached final close or begun construction out of 360GW of announced projects with a start date this decade.     Let’s work together to unlock hydrogen’s full potential for #power generation. Another first ever in the world of hydrogen... For the first time ever, a gas turbine operated on 100% hydrogen. This was achieved in France by a consortium of ENGIE, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Siemens Energy, Centrax Gas Turbines and European universities. Using gas turbines to run on hydrogen is a subject near and dear to me as I worked just a couple of years ago with a pioneer in this field, Mitsubishi Power Americas.
