The City of Yokohama and Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Gas), along with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and their partner company, MHI Environmental & Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (MHIEC), are embarking on a wonderful new adventure - a demonstration experiment centered around a CO2 capture and utilization (CCU) process*1. This process involves skillfully separating and capturing CO2 from the flue gas of a municipal waste-to-energy plant. What's even more exciting is that this captured CO2 will be transported to a local methanation*2 demonstration facility, operated by Tokyo Gas, where it will be transformed into a valuable resource for methanation. This collaborative CCU demonstration experiment, set in the heart of Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama, is Japan's very first of its kind. Its mission is not only to introduce the concept of e-methane*3 but also to enhance and expand CCU technology, contributing to a greener and brighter future. https://lnkd.in/eS7jiMa5 Many small steps also lead to the goal. The city of Lyuliang is a major coal production center in China's Shanxi Province. The city is now trying to develop a #hydrogen #energy industry and becoming the "hydrogen capital" of north China. One step in this direction is to build multi-energy stations. Lyuliang has now built 11 such stations, hundreds of vehicles powered by hydrogen energy have already been put into operation, they say. Admittedly: This is not a revolution, not a big step for mankind and not worthy of a report in the morning news. But it is one of the many small steps being taken towards #climateprotection #PowertoX #CO2

This is an EPC project by AirLiquide Houpu, and it is the first comprehensive energy supply station in Zhejiang province that integrates functions such as refueling petrol and hydrogen. The total capacity of the hydrogen storage tank in the station is 15m3.Two double-nozzle and double-metering hydrogen dispensers are installed in thes tation, and can simultaneously fill up to 4 vehicles. Two 500kg/d compressors can continuously supply 1000kg of hydrogen a day, and can fulfill the fuelingdemand for at least 50 buses, eg 8.5 meter bus. The start-up of Jiashan Shantong Petrol and Hydrogen Refueling Station indicates the inauguration ofthe high-safety comprehensive hydrogen refueling station built by AirLiquide Houpu with international advanced process and technology in hydrogen energy business.

Four leading Japanese firms, including Mitsubishi Corp., have announced a collaborative initiative to explore the provision of green hydrogen in Chitose, Hokkaido. Alongside Mitsubishi, Takasago Thermal Engineering Co., Hokkaido Electric Power Co., and Air Water Hokkaido Inc. plan to produce 3,000 tons of green hydrogen by 2030, utilising renewable energy sources. This project is poised to meet the growing demand for green hydrogen, essential for decarbonising production processes in Chitose, particularly with Japanese chipmaker Rapidus Corp. aiming to mass-produce next-generation semiconductors by 2027. The feasibility study, backed by Japanese government subsidies, will involve site selection for hydrogen production and storage, as well as transportation logistics. Renewable energy is one option to support the prevention of climate change and environmental damage in the future, one of which is tidal range technology. However, this technology is still relatively expensive in terms of project financing and maintenance during its operational period. It is quite interesting to know how to reduce the initial project costs and operational costs of this technology in the future.
