Mental health deserves the same level of attention and care as physical health. The brain is an organ, and mental illnesses like depression, addiction and anxiety are legitimate medical conditions - not weaknesses. We must destigmatize and treat mental health issues with the same urgency as physical ailments. Providing adequate access to mental health services should be a fundamental right in our society. Only by normalizing and prioritizing mental healthcare can we improve countless lives and promote overall well-being.
The “Love, Your Mind” campaign from our Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the Ad Council is dedicated to encouraging a more open, accepting and proactive society when it comes to mental health. Proud to be a part of this effort with the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Hockey League (NHL), Major League Soccer, the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) and others in a series of PSAs featuring professional athletes’ “rituals” to care for their minds while competing and during everyday life.

You can’t win, unless you’re in the game. This stems from a conversation with Mr. Nick Puckett. I think I originally heard this version from James Clear. It also reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt’s “Man In The Arena.” There can be no victory unless you play the game. Get off the bench. Get out of the stands. Pick a team. Let’s do this. I get there also has to be a loser. That may happen. You may lose. With a possibility of losing lies also the possibility of winning. The more you lose. The more you learn. This isn’t about sports. This is that next job opportunity. This is that volunteer role. This is that committee you’ve been asked to join. This is that side hustle you’ve wanted to get off the ground. This is that conversation you’ve needed to have. Get in the game. Play. #mllrmusings #millermusings

Earlier this week Rob Scotland sat down with former Celtic, Blackburn and Scotland international Charles Mulgrew. Part of our week long webinar series, to help educate our grassroots football community about the use of video in training and matches. A couple of key highlights: 1. Applying professional playing principles within grassroots football works! As long as you keep feedback short, simple and digestible. 2. Young players love learning these principles especially when it is reinforced through video. 3. Results are irrelevant. As long as the players are enjoying themselves and can realise their development on the pitch, that is the goal. Positive results are a by-product of the learning process and enjoyable environment! What really struck me is Charlie's passion for grassroots football and the amount of enjoyment he gets out of coaching at this level. As he will no doubt step into a 1st Team Manager role in the near future, I'm sure he will apply all he's learnt from the grass in Lenzie to the professional game. Here is the webinar in full: go.veo.co/day-3

Not sure what Quiet Eye is? It's the last good look an athlete has before executing a critical movement in their sport. AND It can be the difference between success and failure. Our co-founder Derek Panchuk did his PhD with Prof Vickers and has studied Quiet Eye across a number of sports including: basketball, hockey, football (European and American!), baseball, shooting, skiing, refereeing, coaching, bowling, etc. If you want to learn how you can use eye tracking to gain a competitive advantage, get in touch today! #eyetracking #quieteye #learning #perception #attention https://lnkd.in/gW_JgG2c

So! It’s fair to say that Halloween was not a night full of suspense and spooky intrigue in the World Series: Game 4 was essentially over by the third inning. And while the D-backs did their best to make it respectable in the late innings, the 11-7 final score made it seem closer than it actually was, and most of the evening was spent with both teams thinking ahead to Game 5 on Wednesday. Storylines for a Game 5 that could end in long-awaited celebration Because Wednesday could be the night this whole thing is over and the Rangers -- who have been playing in Texas since 1972 -- win their first title in franchise history. That is, of course, unless the D-backs, who have had their backs against the wall before this postseason, can fight their way back again. But for the first time in 2023: We could be looking at the final baseball game of the year.
