The distinction between जाति Jāti ( from jāta, "born or brought into existence) aka caste ( implying tribe, community, clan, sub-clan, associations, including spiritual and religious or linguistic groups) and varna वर्ण aka class (lit. colour, outward appearance, exterior, form, figure or shape; icontextually it means "colour, race, tribe, species, kind, sort, nature, character, quality, property" of an object or people in some Vedic and late medieval texts; also refers to four social classes in the Manusmriti) is that a जाति Jāti aka caste is a local group whereas वर्ण varna refers to a general identity of the larger social group in Bharatan aka Indian society. According to Rig Veda there are only four varna वर्ण, but there are over three thousand जाति Jāti aka castes. Similarly, there is no mobility in the जाति Jāti aka caste system, whereas the वर्ण varna system is mobile. There is a huge and significant difference between Vedic Aryan teachings and later occurrence of Hinduism. Non Bharatan aka non Indian or foreign invasions also have very much contributed to the further deterioration, abuse and corruption of the original living concept.
Many of our decisions, actions and plans are based on the question 'What is our Caaassttte?' We should never forgett the fact that, there were no Caaassteees in Sanatan. Caaasste system was introduced much later during the invaders Era. Not only the British but it actually stated fromt he invasion of Portugese in India. They somehow found it easier to divide people on the segments on caaassttees, to create differences between Indians. Caaastee System was never a part of Sanatan, yes Varna System was a part of Hinduism.. People, let's not divide ourselves with the glass walls. Unity, is Strength. #JaiHind.

My ancestral land has one of the best succession plans for its traditional leadership seat. A city of over 3.7 million people has an unwritten leadership system that has lasted more than 100 years. One great thing about Ibadan is that it started as a settlement of warriors, and order was prevalent there. As we tinker with redesigning the right system for African countries, it is high time we move away from election-centric democracy to a succession-based model. It is always easier when a people evolve their own system of governance. We all love democracy, but the system of recruiting who leads should be left to the people to determine. Democracy should be more than electioneering; it should work for the people. We need to start a robust debate in Africa on how to practice democracy that serves the people and how to recruit leaders. I put forward the Ibadan leadership recruitment model for Nigeria.
Inspiring! This is Ibadan. The late Oba was a Muslim and was buried immediately. In Ibadan, no room for protracted mourning of a deceased Oba and no room for contesting. No consultation of Ifá to pick the new Oba. No need to bribe Afobaje (kingmakers). (Corrupt free). Governor has no role to play as he cannot prefer anyone. The new designated Olubadan is a Christian Oba ti wa nile ki Oba to ku. (there’s a king before the king died). The death of the outgoing and the installation of the in-coming are veritable sources of amala and gbegiri festivals in Ibadan . Ọba Lekan Balogun was 81/82 years old. Because the outgoing Oba is usually old, it is a Celebration of life. Ibadan, interestingly, has no fixed palace. When you become an Oba, your house becomes the palace. The drummers have to shift to the new palace seamlessly, otherwise they will lose business. Ibadan succession is a 23 steps ladder arranged in two layers making a total of 46 men behind an Oba. The two lines are 1. The Olubadan Line called Egbe Àgbà - The Civilian Line 2. The Balogun Line- The Military Line On each of the lines, starting from the least, the titles are 1.Jagun 2.Ajia 3.Bada 4 Are Onibon 5 Gbonnka 6.Are Egbe Ọmọ 7 Oota 8.Lagunna 9.Are Ago 10.Ayingun 11. Asaaju 12. Ikoloba 13. Arẹ Alasa 14.Agba Akin 15.EKEFA 16.MAYE 17.ABESE 18.EKARUN/Olubadan or EKARUN/ Balogun 19. EKERIN/Olubadan or EKERIN/Balogun 20. ASIPA/Olubadan or ASIPA/Balogun 21. OSI/Olubadan or OSI/Balogun 22. OTUN/Olubadan or OTUN BALOGUN 23. OLUBADAN or BALOGUN The highest point for the military line is Balogun while the highest for the Civil Line is Ọtun Olubadan. There's the age long agreement to rotate leadership between the two lines. When Olubadan dies, the number one person in the other line becomes the King. What qualifies you to join the line is that you have served as the Mogaji (Olori Ebi) of your Family Group. It is among mogajis that anyone can clinched the Jagun which is the first step in the long ladder. At the death of an Oba in Ibadan therefore every High Chief in his own colony gets promotion. Probably the best arrangement in Nigeria. Yet, their Constitution is unwritten. Great culture of Leadership by Evolution. And yet the United States and the West wants to teach us democracy that is not working and won't work for us Please clap for all Ibadan indigenes... Copied

If you want to know more about Yẽyāḥ (येँयाः)/Indrajātrā (इन्द्रजात्रा), then this would be a good start.
The hoisting of the Yaḥsĩ (यःसिँ) earlier today marked the beginning of the weeklong festivities of Yẽyāḥ (येँयाः), also known as Indrajātrā (इन्द्रजात्रा). The terms such as Yẽ, Yaṃ and Yaḥ denote God Indra, the king of heaven and the bringer of rains. Thus, Yẽyāḥ means the festivities dedicated to God Indra. However, Yẽ also denotes the old town of Kathmandu in the local Nevāḥ language. Thereby, Yẽyāḥ also alternatively means the festivities of Kathmandu city. Yẽyāḥ is the biggest and the most vibrant festival celebrated in the old town of Kathmandu. Last year, we had an opportunity to prepare a booklet for Kathmandu Metropolitan City with illustrations and brief descriptions of the various elements of Yẽyāḥ celebrated in Kathmandu. The images of the booklet can be found here: https://lnkd.in/daaHU7ig
