Curious about our sorting process? Check out the FAQ's below to learn more! We only include the freshest, best-tasting fruits in your boxes. That’s why every order is hand-packed in one of our regional warehouses, and our packers feel, smell, and even taste the fruit from our farm partners to make sure it meets our high standards. Q: Does fruit have to be perfect to make the cut? A: Nope! We’re happy to include fruit with small “beauty marks” like spots, scars, and russeting in our boxes because they show nature at work on the farm. Q: Do you throw away fruit with serious flaws? A: No, we try to avoid waste wherever we can. If we find fruit with major flaws—like decay, mold, and serious scarring, bruising, or pest damage—we donate or compost it depending on its condition.

Each year over a hundred billion pounds of food is wasted in the United States, which accounts for around 40% of all food. Gleaning is one way to help reduce food waste and provide for those in need. Lead may be present in food because it is in the environment where foods are grown, raised, or processed. Lead that is in the soil, air, and water may be present naturally and from human-activities. https://lnkd.in/eJTsaete

So now the answer to the last question/challenge. We are the ones killing our salmon people thru casinos, churches, gas stations, schools, restaurants and homes. So, when we go to the doctor we usually get a prescription for a drug to help us heal. Our urine has the prescription that’s not completely used up and ends up in the rivers, then into the Puget Sound from the sewer plants putting the outflow waste water into the bays. The sewer plants only rinses the sewer waste water twice there fore not all the drugs are cleaned out. Europe is beating the U.S. by rinsing their sewer waste water 4 times. They have very clean water now. By rinsing 4 times gets 99% of the drugs used by people out of the waste water. There is a product called Nanos that can live in waste water ponds that can eat these drugs completely. Then this water can be released clean. Our poor salmon people/smolts swim thru this waste water, that is not rinsed 4 times, thru an outflow that enters into our bays from the sewer plants. By the time our salmon people/smolts reach Dash Point, on their way North, 50% of them are halfway dead and will not make it to Seattle. This is according to fish biologist/scientists testing in the bay. So, if you and I swim thru this outflow of drug waste being dumped in to the bays we would be dying like our salmon people/smolts that swim thru this concoction of drugs. So why can’t we build a filter system at our building to clean out the drugs before it gets to the sewer plant and then out into our waters?

When food waste is put down the garburator (garbage disposal), little thought is given to clogs in the drain. Often clogs and sewer line backups are caused by flushing and putting the wrong things down the drain. Because the motor and blade are strong enough to break down the food waste, it doesn't mean you should put it down the drain. Here are a few tips to keep your drains flowing and free of clogs.
