🐠⚾️ Throughout my career I’ve always been intrigued by leadership…I’ve followed great leaders for jobs and been intentional about studying great leaders. Since our new President of Baseball Operations, Peter Bendix has come in I’ve been very impressed with the additions he’s made to his department. Obviously, I’m a bit biased but what I’ve been most impressed with is he is bringing in leaders with diverse backgrounds, innovative ways of thinking and placed a strong emphasis on culture. I’m blessed to have one of the most diverse ticket sales leadership teams in MLB with a mix of ethnicity, gender and backgrounds. Statistics show diverse management teams achieve 19% greater revenue success so diversity is essential to bottom line results. Special Indeed! I don't buy into the "baseball is a business" mentality. It is a sport with a business side, yes. This hire makes sense, as you have a former player and future Hall of Fame catcher assisting the business side of the organization with, you know, baseball knowledge.  I do buy into the "game recognizes game" mentality, though. So, have the baseball players evaluate the talent and suggest strategy. Then, have the business people figure out how to make it work financially, keeping egos out of the equation! #leadership #mlb
