Our work doesn't end when the project is over; it's the beginning of a long-term conversation. At Milk, our 2018 collaboration with Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) was more than a project; it was a catalyst for lasting change. By inspiring our network of creators to address climate change through user-generated content, we ignited conversations that continue to reverberate today. From highlighting the heroes of the Paradise, California wildfires to challenging environmental policy rollbacks, our goal was clear: to drive awareness, spark conversation, and inspire action on climate change. #Earthmonth #agency #climatechange

What's the last book, movie, or speaker talk you consumed that taught you something new about the environment or climate change? I'll go first: David Wallace Wells' #TheUninhabitableEarth (which you'll see posts about here) And indirectly, #ChickenRun, Chicken Run: #DawnOfTheNugget, and You Are What You Eat (all on Netflix) If you can't name one, you'd better start (mindfully) consuming and then taking action on what you've learned. Here's a motivational article on the importance of using our voices to advocate for change through voting and informed dialogue by Michael Mann of the University of Pennsylvania and Katharine Hayhoe of The Nature Conservancy and Texas Tech University. Some ancient words that speak to all of us in these times: It Is Not up to You To Finish the Task, but You Are Not Free To Avoid It. Working together, we can make progress. #climatechange #climateleaders

Why is the #ClimateJusticeCamp important? It creates a platform for climate advocates from around the world to build community, networks, and bonds of solidarity that transcends the camp; raising the voices of those most impacted by the climate crisis and harnessing collective power to have impacts that are felt locally and globally. The Climate Justice Camp is a place for shared experiences and finding common ground to create cross-border strategies and alliances and push for long-term environmental change.

Next Wed 1/17 I'll have the honor of hosting Dr. Phil Levin, Director of the White House's National Nature Assessment, in a fireside chat to talk all things climate and nature: - How do we account for nature, when we can barely count emissions? - Do natural climate solutions matter when we're also dealing with buildings, energy and ag? - What does nature mean to you, and why is it important (if it is)? - What changes are we seeing? - How do climate, inequity and nature loss overlap? Many people think of "nature" as something without humans in it, but Dr. Levin's research is pointing to a different reality — one that's relational between people and nature, and one where restoring culture and restoring nature aren't separate actions And this is informing real policy! Exciting stuff The event is live and in-person here in Seattle, but will also be on Zoom, and is open and free to all RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gT88nvqp *Zoom link shared upon RSVP
