Well said 🦄 Matt Farina 🦄 - you are wise beyond your years!! It's really all about how you handle the "hard" things. These days I truly enjoy doing hard things, like having difficult conversations because I know how to approach them from a measured place, without ego or emotion and without attachment to outcomes. With this mindset, even the hardest things (like prospecting, working 80 hours weeks, getting rejected, etc.) can become easy to handle. Proud of you buddy!

Everyone in sales says "sales is life," but sometimes life is sales. Last summer, working with an intimacy coach made me realize a fascinating parallel between my dating life and my sales approach. With prospects, I could easily determine if we were a good fit, saving us both time and money by not working together. However, in my personal life, I found myself dating individuals who were not my dream partners, leading to a waste of time & energy. The most important things I learned from working with an intimacy coach? How to get clear on my vision for my dream partner & mastering direct, truthful conversations with the people I care about - whether they are customers or companions. In life, as in sales, you can love a person even if you reject them. Building positive relationships, even when they are not your ideal match, is crucial. Rejection, whether giving or receiving, always feels personal, but honesty is a powerful way to show love and care for others. Life's lessons can come from unexpected places. Sometimes, it's not what life teaches you about sales but what sales can teach you about life. 🫶🏻

My best friend went on a date last weekend. I asked him how it went and he told me, “She was soo boring.” Being his mate, I had to tell him the HARD TRUTH. I pointed directly at him and said, “well… Maybe that’s because YOU are boring.” It's a universal law that we are what we attract. Before you criticize someone else in your personal sphere, on your team, or anywhere else in your life, take a look in the mirror (hence the mirror selfie). As my former coach Anna Eden once told me, “The way we show up for one thing is the way we show up for everything.” Our businesses are reflections of us. What challenges are you facing in your business? ⭐️ Staff or customers constantly running late to meetings? ↳ Start being punctual yourself. Make sure you start meetings on time, and set that expectation with your employees and customers. ⭐️ Customers not paying their bills? ↳ Stop working until you’re paid; revoke access to their account. Invoice earlier, follow up quicker, send reminders, and start paying your own bills on time. ⭐️ Is everyone on your team overwhelmed? ↳ Consider whether it is because you are overwhelmed. Take a day to get organized, maybe take a walk in nature, invest in software, and learn & teach to delegate. Change always starts with YOU. The good news: you are more capable than you might realize right now! Stop looking for external reasons why things aren’t working. Start changing your mindset. Tag someone who leads by example or maybe someone who needs to read this message. How I became a happier and more energized worker…. (Spoiler: it’s not exercise.) Way before covid, I purchased a condo in Huntington Beach. I furnished it & listed it on AirBnB and booked my first guests for when I’d be in D.C. at a friend’s wedding. How’d it go? Eazy-peazy. In fact… The income from the rental more than covered the cost of my trip. That got me thinking… Fast forward a few months… I opened up the calendar landed bookings for 1 week, then 2 weeks, then one month! In February no less my favorite time to be skiing! I had a fully remote job, so I flew to Utah, rented a room from a friend and enjoyed the slopes all while working remotely from Park City. More monthly rentals kept coming. Then multi-month rentals… I started spending less time in the US and more time in Europe. By 2019… the calendar was mostly full and I had to block a few months so I could enjoy it myself. That was the last time I spent more than a month in Cali. I miss my condo at times but I’ve embraced the digital nomad lifestyle. I know so many others who had to make a hard pivot. End their lease, put their stuff in storage, hit the road. Mine was much softer, more gradual, definitely more organic. Here’s the key: 👉🏻 keep pushing towards your dream lifestyle until something stops you. And if nothing stops you… keep enjoying your dream! For those of you digital nomading What prompted you to go remote? Was it a hard pivot or more like mine?

One of the hardest parts about digital nomading, is not having a standing desk. So as a present to myself for my 40th birthday, I bought one that I can travel with. Do you prefer to stand or sit while working?
