This job is not transactional. I hope the residents, I get paid. It's not just that I help the residents and in turn I get that emotional fulfillment from them. Home means having a safe place for my children and I to reside in, as well as a place where they feel comfortable enough and stable enough to thrive and grow. Most of us come from some level of poverty, homelessness. Many of us are single mothers. So I think that that kind of. Naturally gives us a little bit of connection because we feel like we're validated in some sense. I do feel supported by mid pen as far as like my goals goes, honestly, because like if I didn't have the stability piece, I wouldn't even be able to manage, you know, all the things that I'm carrying as far as like managing four children on my own, being a single mother, dealing with finances and everything like that. Mid Penn offers a lot of resources and tools. It encourages me to keep going and moving forward. And also just having an accountability partner is really nice. I've been a product of the after school program since I was. The little kid, so I've always been in after school program, so volunteering, being a part of it, working at running it. So I take a lot of pride in running an after school program. I feel when I'm playing with the kids, they feel like they are enjoying their childhood as well. So that's what I want. I want them to be able to enjoy their time with me. So a lot of the kids were, oh, in 20 years, what do we want to become, right? I've had many of them say they want to become a teacher like myself, right? So they want to be like, oh, I want to be a teacher. I did have a couple of. Shouts as well who they want to become Astronauts. I'm glad that they're always thinking ahead of what do they want to become? Because I want them to become something. I've been living here in Avelina since 2004, pretty much. I've been around kids since I did move here, so I've been taking care of kids and now they're growing and some of these kids, they come here, so I work with them. And I just love children's and I like it. It's made me feel like back to my childhood when I was that age. It's a beautiful environment where residents are there to support each other and look out for each other. It's amazing to see them wake up every day and attend exercise class every Wednesday and Friday. They're building the sense of community. At times I feel like we're we're a family here. By really designing our properties as if we were going to live here, what would we want to see in our communities? What would we want to see in our homes? Our residents can literally walk out their doors and have access to affordable healthcare just directly across their street. I feel a sense of safety. I feel happiness. Since I've been here, my health has improved, everything has improved. Everybody feel like family here. People are. Even on one another, safety is, you know, and if that makes me feel good. Especially now that at an older age. How you appreciate? Living a full life. And to me being here. It's wonderful. To view or add a comment, sign in
