„Which algorithm is best to detect gait sequences from wrist-worn accelerometer data?“ Good news for patients, clinical researchers, and Digital Mobility Outcome Aficionados: The best performing algorithm is actually quite close to the performance when applied to data collected from the ‚gold standard’ wearing position (at the center of mass). The results in this paper will enable us to lower patient burden (with wrist-worn sensors), while still collecting quality data in clinical trials. Thanks so much to Felix and the team for this great result!

I am happy to share that my first paper, "Sequential Fabrication of a Three-Layer Retina-Like Structure", has been published in Gels MDPI as part of the special issue "Advances in Chemistry and Physics of Hydrogels". In this work, we report a fabrication process of a three-layer retina-like structure. We envision that such structure may be able to attenuate the deterioration of a degenerated retina and improve engraftment and regeneration. My deep gratitude goes to Prof. Tal Dvir, Aya Barzelay MD PhD, and my lab members for their guidance and support. The last two years have been a whirlwind of academic and creative pursuits. We established the "Secure Visual Intelligence Lab" (SVIL) and had the privilege of publishing five high-quality research articles in prestigious journals (three in IEEE, one in IJBC, and another in IET). Being an author on each of these articles led to a truly humbling honor: acceptance into the China Society of Image & Graphic (CSIG) on the committees of Medical and Image Detection. The articles can be accessed using the below info: 1. #Technology #Thread #Semiconductor #Manufacturing #ArXiv The Semiconductor ArXiv: 1/ - ArXiv Is An Open-Access Repository And One Of The Largest One. - Research Papers Uploaded On ArXiv Are Posted After Moderation. - But Are Not Peer Reviewed. ---- 2/ - Key Point: Not Peer Reviewed. - And, If One Is Publishing A Scientific Breakthrough, Then The Rules Of Science Apply. - Meaning, Peer Review Is A Must. ---- 3/ - There Is Another Side, That States Peer Review Has Flaws. - Still, In Many Cases, Peer Review Wins. - And, This Debate Will Continue Forever. ---- 4/ - Another Key Point: One Should Be Very Careful When Reading Papers Uploaded On ArXiv. - More So, When The Domain Is A Critical One. - Like Semiconductors, Genetics, Medicine, Science, Etc. Etc. ---- 5/ - Fundamental Reason To Publish On ArXiv Is To Get The Timestamp To Prove Which Idea Came First, While Peer Review Or Conference/Journal Process Is On Going. - In Nutshell, ArXiv Is A Very Good Source. - But Be Careful In Accepting The Content At Its Face Value. ---- #chetanpatil - Chetan Arvind Patil - www.ChetanPatil.in

"In scenarios where #satellite #communication frequencies are congested, leading to multiple signals #sharing the same #spectrum, #reconfigurable #photonic #filters simplify spectrum management and #interference mitigation. This, in turn, ensures dependable signal transmission." https://lnkd.in/dngdBgbg
🚀 Exciting News for this new Year! Our team is proud to announce the publication of our latest paper in Applied Sciences titled "Fully Reconfigurable Photonic Filter for Flexible Payloads." 📝🔬 In this groundbreaking study, we delve into the world of reconfigurable photonic filters—a technology revolutionizing space payloads. 🛰️ Our research demonstrates how these advanced filters leverage light's unique properties to enhance signal processing, filtering, and frequency selection while significantly reducing Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP). In crowded satellite communication channels, our reconfigurable photonic filters play a pivotal role in spectrum management and interference mitigation, ensuring robust and reliable signal transmission. 💡 Moreover, they exhibit exceptional adaptability to the challenging space environment—withstanding extreme conditions while maintaining stable performance. The heart of our study lies in introducing a fully reconfigurable filter comprising two independent ring resonators, offering precise control over central frequency and bandwidth through thermal tuning. Our numerical achievements showcase a remarkable stopband rejection of 45 dB, reconfigurable bandwidth of 20 MHz, and central frequency of 180 MHz—all with minimal power consumption and rapid reconfiguration time. This breakthrough paves the way for high-speed signal processing in space, enabling agile frequency channelization and simultaneous analysis of multiple frequency bands. 🌐 Our device's performance positions it as a crucial component for RF optical filters, propelling next-generation telecommunication payload advancements. We're immensely proud of this achievement, a testament to our team's dedication and commitment to pushing the boundaries of space technology. A huge thanks to everyone involved in making this research possible! 🌌🛰️ Read our paper in Applied Sciences for a detailed exploration of our innovative work! https://lnkd.in/dx2QK-Dx #ResearchPaper #Photonics #SpaceTechnology #AppliedSciences #Innovation #Telecommunication #mdpi
