I love nothing more than seeing this type of chart to explain the importance of health and wellness on a micro and macro scale. It starts with the individual and moves its way up the scale to the larger community the individual is part of! If you see yourself anywhere on this scale, what are you doing to make an impact for both yourself and the larger community you are part of? 1) Individual - do you have physical, nutritional, mental, and health goals? 2) Interpersonal - are you engaging with others in your health and wellness goals? 3) Organizational - does your job offer ways to be engaged inside and outside the workspace? If not challenge them to do so! 4) Community - what groups are you a part of? Local community center, gym, recreational organization? 5) Policy - challenge your city, town, or county to provide access to physical activity! Your health matters and is important!
Increasing physical activity as a social norm in communities and raising awareness of the importance of physical activity among community members may encourage more people to seek the services of health and fitness professionals and use community resources (e.g., parks, trails, playgrounds, schools, other recreational facilities) to be more physically active. Individualized and group-based physical activity programming tailored to client and patient needs and preferences can work hand in hand with physical activity policy, systems, and environmental interventions to increase physical activity and help more people improve their health, fitness and quality of life. Social and structural determinants of health determine a significant percentage of many health outcomes. Don't think of these determinants as the privilege of what you have access to, these determinants are the obstacles that others have to overcome that you may never see. Be careful of the bias "oh, they just weren't motivated enough" because, as the professional, you are in a greater position to have an impact by understanding ALL of the individual's circumstances to provide guidance on best practices to be successful. Systems should have the structure to cover the foundations for anyone, and the flexibility to adapt to everyone. How does your system address common obstacles in your community? How do you address the individual's needs?

We must also contemplate the definition of a professional and anticipate the emergence of new regulations.

Absolutely, promoting physical activity within communities is vital for our overall well-being! The World Health Organization has found that regular physical activity can reduce the risk of certain chronic conditions by up to 25%. In embracing this community-driven approach to health, what creative collaborations have you seen between fitness professionals, schools, and local governments that have made a real impact? I'm curious to hear about examples that have effectively leveraged these community resources. #WHO #SportsMedicine #Fitness #Wellness #WellnessPrograms

With only 57 days left until spring, we at A Bed for Every Child are excited for warmer, brighter days! More than just welcoming the sun, it's a perfect time for your team to step outdoors and engage in meaningful projects. At the core of our mission, we believe that a good night's sleep is as crucial for a child as nutritious food and a stable home environment. With your generous support, we aim to gift this fundamental comfort to more children. We're thrilled to share more information about the Build a Bed Project, a unique team-building opportunity. It's more than just an activity; it's a chance for your team to strengthen bonds and profoundly impact children's lives. This two-hour commitment is an enriching experience, fostering unity and making a tangible difference. We're opening our spring calendar and can't wait to discuss potential collaborations with you. Together, we can organize an unforgettable event that leaves a lasting impression on the lives of children eagerly waiting for their own beds. Let's chat soon and plan an event that will bring smiles to many faces this spring! But remember, if spring isn't the right time for you, summer is just around the corner, and we are happy to start the conversation, present at a meeting, or reserve a date ahead of any planning conversations.
