This paper explores the complex vibration modes of a GaAs nanowire with embedded InAs QDs. Electrodes on the chip create a 3D force field to stimulate various vibration modes, which are then optically detected through the QDs' microphotoluminescence spectrum, revealing the vibration mode's characteristics. Starting from the fundamental flexural mode below 1 MHz, we find higher-order resonances significantly increase the mechanical frequency and the system's hybrid coupling strength. Colloidal quantum dots are known for their brightness which provides vivid colors for television display applications (the pioneers of this technology just received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2023). Now we have improved the brightness of perovskite quantum dots through a novel surface chemistry that makes them nearly blinking-free. Moreover, thanks to the occurrence of an unconventional process named single-photon superradiance, perovskite QDs can emit single photons at an unprecedented speed (tens of ps), thus delivering more photons per second than almost any known quantum emitter. Discover CINT Science — Here we show that WSe2/NiPS3 heterostructures locally strained via nanoindentations29 can support QEs capable of emitting single photons with strong circular polarization at zero magnetic field and independent of excitation polarization. This observation is surprising because NiPS3 displays AFM order26, and is therefore not expected to yield a net out-of-plane magnetization capable of enhancing the valley Zeeman effect and thus induce circularly polarized photoluminescence (PL). One of the biggest bottlenecks of terahertz (THz) radiation as an emerging light source is its quite low power. This review summarizes the current technologies based on lasers and discusses the current edge. I hope we can find some breakthroughs for high-power THz sources and contribute to achieving this.

Embarking on an exciting journey into silicon quantum photonics, our (Ching-Wen Shih) new publication unveils a breakthrough in the direct heteroepitaxial growth of high-quality InGaAs quantum dots on a silicon substrate compatible with CMOS technology. Collaborating with our counterparts at the University of Marburg/NAsP III/V GmbH and leveraging their patented GaP buffer and defect-reducing layers technology on silicon, we showcase a remarkable multi-photon suppression rate and high photon indistinguishability under non-resonance excitation. Additionally, our collaborative efforts yield a notable achievement in high photon extraction efficiency, representing a pivotal advancement in the realm of silicon-based quantum nanophotonics.
