Today marks my 6 month anniversary for my relocation to Nashville, TN! Here are 6, of the many, things that I ❤️ about Nashville… 1. The AIRPORT. I travel quite a bit and my commute to the Nashville International Airport is a mere 20-25 minutes. This may seem minute to some but to get to a major airport from my hometown was a 2.5-3 hour drive. #BNA 2. The ENTERTAINMENT. There's literally something for everyone to enjoy - restaurants, sporting events, concerts, comedy shows, lounges, paint parties, mixology classes, religious gatherings, wellness studios, day spas, collegiate events, shopping malls, conferences, and so much more - you think of it and Nashville has it! 3. The HBCUs. Though I did not attend an HBCU, I absolutely love our community and culture! I am honored to say that Tennessee is home to 7 HBCUs, 4 of which are in Nashville! #BlackExcellence 🖤 4. The NETWORKS. There are countless of opportunities, organizations, resources, and the like to help you grow and scale your business – many of which are often harder to access in a smaller city. 5. The PEOPLE. Many have been warm and welcoming and for some #SouthernHospitality is a real thing. Nashville is more diverse than one may expect and I simply love seeing women and black people excel! 6. The WEATHER. Though this season’s winter weather in my home state (Illinois) hasn’t been that different from Tennessee, I appreciate not having snow and ice to contend with regularly. There you have it, some of my favs from Nashville! #SouthernLiving #ResolveToEvolve #KeynoteSpeaker #CorporateTrainer #Coach #HigherEducation #StudentAffairs #SAPros #FirstGenCollegeGraduate #FirstGenEntrepreneur #TrainingAndDevelopment

Nashville’s meteoric rise is more than just a skyline transformation—it’s a testament to its vibrant culture, booming economy, and unparalleled quality of life. From the iconic honky-tonks on Broadway (insert woo girls here 😂)to the sleek skyscrapers lining the skyline, Nashville’s evolution reflects its journey from a music mecca to a thriving metropolis. With a bustling tech scene, a robust healthcare sector(did you know healthcare is actually our #1 industry?), and a diverse array of industries, Nashville is not just a destination for tourists, but a magnet for talent and innovation. As it secures its place among the top 10 metropolitan cities in America, Nashville continues to harmonize tradition with progress, making it a city that sings with opportunity and promise. @pennyadamsphoto was nice enough to let me share her pictures of the Nashville Skyline, not even 10 years apart. There are more cranes in the sky today, so I can’t imagine what it will look like in the next 10 years, especially with @oracle coming in on the east side. What are your thoughts on the growth Nashville has seen over the last 10 years? #NashvilleNow #CityOfDreams #UrbanTransformation #RisingSkyline #CultureCapital #TechBoomTown #MusicCityMomentum #VibrantNashville #OpportunityCity #SouthernCharm #ExploreNashville #InnovateTN

Is it time to explore the concept of an interconnected Central Texas metro again? With San Antonio at the forefront of manufacturing and distribution and Austin at the forefront of technology, music, and higher education, the two cities continue to collaborate and partner and in some ways already act like a mega-region. I thought this Austin American-Statesman article had some great insights. What are your thoughts? #SABJ #Austin #SanAntonio #MegaRegion https://lnkd.in/gDuaMnJN

Brentioch & Crieve Hall: 54% of your survey responses cited traffic/congestion as the “worst” of the negative aspects of our city, and we’re taking seriously your goals for a better future. 78% said the #1 goal is to “make it easier to get around Nashville—to and from downtown and from one place to another in the region, while 50% said Nashville must “ensure everyone has good access to downtown and the important parts of the region—make transportation options equally accessible to all.” Nashville: Do you agree?

Jim Crow is an important part of Nashville's legacy because it represents a dark chapter in the city's history, one characterized by racial segregation, discrimination, and systemic oppression. The implementation of Jim Crow laws in Nashville and throughout Tennessee had profound and lasting effects on the city's African American community, shaping social, economic, and political structures for generations. The legacy of Jim Crow in Nashville is evident in various aspects of the city's history and culture. Segregated neighborhoods, schools, and public facilities, as well as the unequal allocation of resources and opportunities, continue to influence patterns of inequality and segregation in Nashville today. Additionally, the resistance and activism of Nashville's African American community against Jim Crow, exemplified by events such as the Nashville Sit-Ins of 1960, are integral parts of the city's Civil Rights Movement history and contribute to its legacy of resilience and struggle for justice. While significant progress has been made since the end of legal segregation, the legacy of Jim Crow remains a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges of racism and inequality in Nashville and serves as a call to action for continued efforts to address systemic injustices and build a more inclusive and equitable city for all residents. We at THG strive to create inclusive neighborhoods and empower all of its citizens. Recognizing and confronting this legacy is essential for understanding Nashville's history and working towards a more just and united community. #NashvilleJimCrowLegacy #ResilienceThroughStruggle #EqualityForAllNashvillians
