Trans Day of Visibility is just behind us. Arab American Heritage Month has started. Fellow comms folks, we want to hear from you. After marginalized communities put in the hard work to gain recognition of their existence and experiences, it’s too common for those in power to celebrate without doing anything to change the injustices that have been brought to light or acknowledging that increased visibility can also increase violence. When we call for our audiences to raise awareness, we must also secure their commitment to what comes next — actions and accountability that drive systemic change. So, how are you pushing for more than just “raising awareness”?

Please join us in celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month all month long. Embrace inclusivity at your office by honoring your Jewish American employees and educating your staff on the importance of Jewish culture. Cater a meal for your staff from a Jewish-owned restaurant. During the lunch foster conversation with ice breakers, presentations, games, and more. Send out weekly emails highlighting important contributions of Jewish Americans. Highlight their culture with historical and cultural facts. Feature books and movies to help your staff learn more about Jewish American heritage. Publish a list of local events and festivals and encourage your staff to attend. Then ask them to share something the learned. Whatever you choose to do to celebrate this month, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing about their culture, heritage, and history will only make the bonds amongst your staff stronger. #jewishamericanheritagemonth #history #culture #inclusion #diversity #celebrate #belonging #heritage
