After taking a break from social media over the summer, I'm back with the weekly Nice Guy and Gal Awards. I'd love your support to get these back up and running.
Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals).
If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EDT on Thursday.
There are only 3 requirements:
1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate
2) you can only nominate one person per week
3) you can’t nominate yourself 😀
If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement.
Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice.
Have a great day, everyone. And now that we're on the other side of summer, have a great fall, too!

Thank you Calum Hopkins - I appreciate the mention, especially after so long. You know though, as the saying goes, one can lead the horse to water etc. You took the Shazam opportunity and ran with it, building on your own drive to springboard into your career. I do want to acknowledge Andrew Fisher O.B.E. for giving me the space to bring you and others in for work experience… I just wish more companies would run programs like this. #theNextGeneration#WorkExperience#Mentoring

September 8, 2023 was the Inaugural Black Ownership in Sports Symposium in Atlanta Ga presented by Diverse Representation from the brilliant mind of Jaia Thomas
This symposium was an opportunity for business minded professionals to come together to listen to various speakers talk about the experience of being a black owner or minority of various sports teams and the best practices to have the most successful chance of ownership . The conversations were informative, enlightening, and aspirational to say the least. Understanding the business of sports will continue to be a passion of mine and I’m truly grateful Diverse Representation created this event for many of us who continue to be business professionals in the sports and entertainment industries.
Some take aways I heard at this symposium in a simple summary were:
1.Solid Relationships in sports and entertainment matter.
2.Understanding the business of sports matters.
3.Having Capital matters.
4.Your team of advisors (attorney, financial advisor, cpa etc) will be crucial if you aspire to own or have a desire to have a minority or majority stakes
5.There are more opportunities for ownership not only in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS. Consider other sports 😉
6.Ownership could be accomplished with an international team.
Thank you 🙏🏽 to the Speakers:
Warrick Dunn (minority owner,
Atlanta Falcons)
Max Siegel (owner of Rev Racing, CEO of USA Track & Field )
Paxton Baker ( minority owner, Washington Nationals)
Paris Wallace (founder, National Cycling League)
Brian Michael Cooper (president, American Flag Football League)
Raphael Edwards (CEO, Cape Town Tigers Basketball Club)
CJ Harrington (Sports and M&A Associate, Hogan Lovells)
Fitzann (Fitz) Reid (Co-founder, Cotogna Sports Group)
