CLAIMS STORY:
Sara, an 8-year-old Golden Retriever, presented to the ER after ingesting 11 tablets of Carprofen that evening. Carprofen is an anti-inflammatory medication specifically for dogs. Sometimes, manufacturers will make the Carprofen tablets flavored, so it is easier to give the medicine. Unfortunately, some dogs, like Sara, may think they are treats!
The dose of Carprofen Sara ingested is potentially toxic to internal organs, so quick action was imperative. Happily, after 3 days of hospitalization, Sara was discharged and is doing well!
We were able to cover $1,896.85 out of the incident’s total of $2,369.28!
