In my opinion, it's crucial to look beyond breed stereotypes. The behavior of a dog often mirrors the training and environment provided by its owner. I witness daily the outcomes of various training and ownership practices daily. Proper training, socialization, and responsible ownership play pivotal roles in a dog's behavior. Simply blaming a breed is a superficial approach; the onus is on the owner to ensure their dog is well-trained, socialized, and managed responsibly. Addressing the root causes, primarily focusing on responsible ownership, is the key to reducing such incidents.

Blaming breeds will never help neither dogs or dog owners. It has nothing to do with dogs. It is all about bad owners and most of them that we call "short dick men" that are getting dogs for status. These people need to be our target, not dogs or breeds. I have an extended experience in working with American Staffords, and Am Staffs cross Pitbulls. They are amazing dogs in right hands. Yes, they do have a shorter temper with regards to fight with other dogs, they are more prone to respond to the attack but if you socialise them properly, they are the most amazing creatures for families. What needs to be done, and it was long ago working in other countries years ago, is the obligatory/compulsary training once you get any of the working or large breed dogs. You have to pass an exam at the end and if you don't, this will impact on your council/home/insurance services. The government has to make lives of those individuals hard but not put pressure on dogs. It is not a dogs' mistake if they are in wrong hands - animals have no choice! This is very simple solution to sort this issue quickly - grab those tiny balls of those clowns and squeeze them hard. How to do so? Council tax on dogs. It should be very small tax like £3-5 a year to provide with a token (and this should become obligatory like in many other countries) and the token number is registered with both vet and a local council. To get this token, any dog owner will have to register their dog and if they appear without it, any member of public can report them. These tokens are very visible and the colour changes each year. Fines are severe. All dogs that are of a spaniel and above size will have to pass a compulsary Companion dog test to get this token by the age of 6-7 months. This test will not require any competitive levels but will show the level of socialisation and safety for all parties. This is easy to implement and will help people to feel safe. Besides, it will remove clowns from dog's community.
