Leading by example is my kind of leadership. I consider myself a servant leader.
THIS IS WHAT LEADERSHIP LOOKS LIKE! I stop by Capri Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Lewis Center, Ohio today on my way to another meeting. I had time and wanted to see how Derek Lytle, LNHA, one of our newer young Administrator was doing. When I got there the receptionist said that Derek was out on the floor but wasn't sure where. I told her, "No problem, I'll walk around and visit, and I'll find him." After visiting with a few residents and employees and making my way through part of the building, I saw Derek coming out of a resident's rooms with a broom and dustpan in his hand. He told me that they were down a Housekeeper today and instead of putting extra work on the team he decided to help out and clean one of the Units himself. I could feel my chest filling with pride and knowing that this young man was going to be an amazing Administrator. He leads by example and steps up to help his team. Culture of Care in Action! “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” —William Arthur Ward #leadership #example #inspiringleadership #caprigardens #foundationshealthsolution #cultureofcare #makingadifference #ltc #seniorliving #seniorcare

Did you know that you are within your legal right in Texas to place a camera in your loved one's nursing home? Entrusting your loved ones to nursing home care can cause rightful anxiety. Did you know that Texas law grants you the right to install surveillance cameras in your loved one's room to ensure their well-being? To ensure proper care of your loved one through electronic monitoring, there are certain guidelines you must follow under Texas law: • Prior Notice: Notify the nursing home in advance, and they cannot refuse your request. • Roommate Consent: Obtain written consent from roommates to respect their privacy rights. • Financial Responsibility: Residents or guardians cover all expenses related to electronic monitoring. • Visibility: Maintain a visible note in the room stating it's monitored by a camera. • Legal Framework: Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 242, Subchapter R outlines laws on electronic monitoring. THHS Form 0066 must be filled out and submitted to the nursing facility. While the nursing home care you've trusted for your loved one should be above reproach, installing a camera helps you safeguard against potential abuse or neglect. If you have questions or concerns about the care your loved one has received in their nursing home, our team at Powers Taylor is here to guide you: https://bit.ly/3H05Mwy #PowersTaylor #PTFamily #NursingHomeAbuse #CompassionateJustice #TexasLawyers

A lot goes into deciding which nursing home is best for your spouse or loved one. Is the facility safe, clean, and comfortable? Does the facility provide the services and supports my loved one needs? Is it within a close driving distance so I can visit often? As families tour and evaluate facilities for their loved one, they sometimes limit their search to the state they live in. Instead, in most cases, families can consider facilities in another state, too. On the Eastern Shore, families who consider placing their loved one in a Delaware nursing home may find the strategies to shelter their savings from the costs of long term care even more favorable. With the state line so close, this option rarely creates a barrier for visitation. Interested in learning more? Contact us. We can help. #pwwlaw #elderlaw #estateplanning
