Following the official nationwide launch of Voice of Patient, we are thrilled to now provide our services for WorkSafe Victoria. Almost half a million Australians experience work-related injuries every year, resulting in thousands of claims and many months of missed work and productivity. In Victoria alone, almost 30,000 claims are registered annually. Thousands of workplace claims relate to musculoskeletal injuries – especially hips and knees. Our patient experience measures show that patients receiving knee and hip procedures at the top 33% of hospitals report better outcomes, shorter lengths of stays, fewer adverse events and healthcare-associated complications. By providing services to WorkSafe Victoria, Voice of the Patient and Australian Health Service Alliance raise its position as the country’s leading platform for private patient insights. Together, we can delve deeper into what matters most to patients who suffer workplace injuries and help our hospitals to deliver the best value and highest #qualitycare. #VoiceofthePatient #patientcare #patientadvocacy #AnalyticsInHealthcare #AHSA #InsightActuaries

***5 Ways We Make It Easy to See a GP at Work*** Accessing a face-to-face GP appointment has never been more difficult. And, for Nick Bushell and our corporate team who speak to dozens of businesses every day, they hear about the various challenges this creates. As well as increased short- and long-term absence, and reduced performance, businesses are also witnessing increasing levels of PMI claims and subsequent premium increases. What clients want is simplicity and ease. And their employees expect it too. Which is why GPDQ’s corporate division provides our clients with the most flexible GP service available to their employees – 🌟 Appointments are available both in the workplace and remote. 🌟Appointments can be pre-booked or drop-in. 🌟Clinics can be daily, weekly, monthly or flexible to suit. 🌟Each appointment is not limited to one condition – employees can cover more in one appointment. 🌟Employees can see the same GP at each appointment to ensure continuity of care. An early heads up for employers: the government has recently announced that it will be looking into reforming the current fit note system. There are no specifics in terms of what this might look at at the moment, but the government has made clear that the intention is to provide individuals whose health affects their ability to work with easy and rapid access to specialised work and health support. GPs will still have an important role in supporting people whose health is a barrier to work, but the usual pressures on time and expertise mean they cannot always hold work and health conversations effectively. Any reforms will begin with trials in a small number of Integrated Care Boards, and the point of this trial is to inform the launch of a consultation on reforms to the fit note process. As we all know, changes to fit notes were initially made as a consequence of Covid-19 and the pressure that placed GPs under. This resulted in a widening of who could issue a fit note (such as pharmacists and physiotherapists) and allowing digitally created fit notes that didn't need to be signed off in ink. This is obviously something that employers see and deal with on a daily basis so definitely something to keep your eyes on! #TeamHowarths

Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) Program The Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) provides coverage to federal civilian employees who have sustained work-related injuries or disease by providing appropriate monetary and medical benefits and help in returning to work. Monetary benefits include compensation for lost wages and permanent impairment. Medical benefits provided to injured federal employees under the FECA include payment for reasonable and necessary medical treatment for the work-related injury or disease that OWCP considers likely to cure, relieve or lessen the period of disability. Vocational rehabilitation training and job-placement assistance may also be provided. The program also provides benefits to dependents if a work-related injury or disease causes death. #OWCP #FECA
