Today I read some exciting news from NVIDIA GTC2024! Nvidia unveils the Blackwell B200 GPU, claiming it to be the "world's most powerful chip" for AI. With 20 petaflops of FP4 horsepower and innovations like a second-gen transformer engine and next-gen NVLink switch, it promises significant performance, reduced cost, better speed and improvements over previous models. The GB200 superchip, combining two B200 GPUs with a Grace CPU, offers substantial gains in LLM inference workloads and efficiency. Nvidia aims to address communication bottlenecks with its new NVL72 racks and DGX Superpod setups, supporting massive-scale AI training. Major cloud service providers are already planning to integrate these solutions. The Blackwell architecture may also influence future RTX graphics cards. We've been experimenting with AI for a while now (like everyone else) and since we already have a platform for deploying and running workloads in house, we were able to deploy what I like to call "MLOps lite" on Release and make good progress on being able to develop and test AI models. You should give it a try and see if you like it. Warning: the GPUs are extremely expensive and you will likely need some money or credits to burn.
