Promote partnership and dialogue between operators to work in an increasingly integrated way is important in order to face and overcome existing problems and optimize services. The #Hupac #Intermodal Forum in Lugano was an opportunity to talk about the logistics of the future. We are investing in connected infrastructures, both digital and physical, to increase the volumes of goods transported by rail thanks to increasingly effective connections of our ports and terminals to the national network and the European rail corridors, consolidating the integration of sea-rail-road transport systems. Last year has been a start to a series of events challenging the traditional freight flows, and we take for a fact now that developing flexible intermodal solutions is the key for survival and profitability for all active freight operators. For this reason, Mercitalia Logistics and #PoloLogistica at Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, started to create partnerships between freight operators across the sector, to develop efficient end-to-end solutions for the clients. But this is not enough. Once the new European Commission is formed, we have to efficiently reintroduce these topics in order to push the request for a better regulation, to start by eliminating the restrictions on the circulation of #freight #trains in Europe, to make the life of the #rail transport operators easier, especially in the cross-border context.
