Spectrum News recently shed light on Florida’s House Bill 1369, which proposes the requirement of one’s biological sex to be listed on their state IDs. This would create more marginalization for the transgender & gender expansive communities, who thus need more empowerment now than ever. November is Transgender Awareness Month. We use this month to raise awareness about our lives as trans people; the struggles and discrimination we face every day, as well as debunking misinformation spread by the government, media and hate groups. It's also a time to celebrate the wonderful aspects of being trans, and how understanding our experiences can help to expand our understanding of gender as a whole. #equalityanddiversity #transrights #transgenderawarenessmonth #transgenderawareness

Data drives clinical decision making – and collecting patient data on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) can help create a more informed picture about the health of LGBTQ individuals USCDI Version 3 (USCDI v3) included new data elements that promote health equity. The use of USCDI v3 supports data users' abilities to identify, assess, and analyze gaps in care, which could in turn be used to inform and address the quality of health care through interventions and strategies. This could lead to better patient care, experiences, and health outcomes. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dcZN2B3u #healthequity #SOGI #USCDIv3
