As a leader, it may seem easiest to task your team with managing their own burnout once it has already taken hold. Encouraging self-care is undeniably important and should be emphasized and supported. However, it's equally vital to examine what is fueling their burnout in the first place. Are your team members spending excessive time on unnecessary tasks, redundancies, or inefficiencies? It's possible that by eliminating these obstacles, burnout can be significantly reduced or even prevented. If you're not sure what the problems are....ask your team! Often, burnout comes not from doing your job, but from what keeps you from doing your job. #PhysicianBurnout #Leadership #Healthcare #Burnout #LeadershipSkills #SelfCare #Management #HealthcareManagement #TeamBuilding #BurnoutPrevention
