I've had the privilege of signing some of the most impactful deals of my career in the beautiful and serene setting of Bali. This unique experience has offered me profound insights into why taking business discussions to unconventional locations can significantly benefit decision-making and relationship-building. ♦️ Innovative Thinking Inspired by New Environments The transition from the office's familiar confines to the vibrant and inspiring environment of Bali has consistently fostered an atmosphere ripe for innovation. This setting encourages a break from routine thought processes, leading to fresh ideas and creative solutions that are often hard to come by in a traditional office environment. ♦️ Deepening Connections in Relaxed Settings The informal and relaxed setting of Bali has proven to be an ideal backdrop for building stronger, more genuine relationships with business partners. Away from the formalities and pressures of the office, discussions become more open and personal, laying the foundation for trust-based partnerships. ♦️ Enhanced Focus without Office Distractions Contrary to the bustling office, the peaceful environment of Bali facilitates highly focused and productive business discussions. This undisturbed setting allows for deeper engagement with the matters at hand, driving more meaningful and strategic outcomes. ♦️ Camaderie and Collaboration Participating in tradetrade shows in Bali was consistently a standout experience. These gatherings went beyond ordinary business interactions, providing exceptional chances to connect with a wide range of professionals, even those we usually compete against. The collective experiences cultivated a distinctive sense of fellowship and paved the way for collaborative opportunities that surpassed standard commercial transactions. The decision to take business discussions outside of the office, has been instrumental in my success. The unique combination of a stimulating environment has not only enriched my professional life but also underscored the untapped potential of unconventional settings in achieving remarkable business outcomes. Empty Offices: A Sign of Success? Walking through silent offices across Jakarta, KL, Singapore, India. An eerie feeling. Should I even bother working? My dad always said, "An empty office is good. It means we're out there, making things happen." .. He loved the quiet. This week was a whirlwind. Cases from Cambodia to Bangkok. Our team, booking flights, opting for budget airlines, staying in 2-star hotels. Keeping costs low for our clients—it's in our DNA. Perception is everything. What feels off to some, signals success to others. An empty office? A silent nod to our hustle. In consulting, it's not the silence in the office, but the noise we make out there that counts. #Consulting #Perception

🌟🌿 Embracing Daily Reflection and Refresh in Our Work Lives 🌿🌟 🏢 In the fast-paced realm of office leasing in Bangkok, every day brings its own set of challenges and triumphs. As I navigate through this dynamic environment, I've realized the importance of pausing to reflect, even amidst the busiest of days. 🤔 Reflecting Daily Reflection in our daily work is not just about evaluating our to-do lists or ticking off goals. It's about understanding the impact of our work, appreciating the small victories, and learning from the setbacks. It's in these moments of quiet contemplation that we find clarity and purpose, which guides us in making better decisions and providing top-notch service to our clients. 🔄 Refreshing Our Approach But reflection is just one part of the equation. The other, equally important part is refreshing our approach. This means staying open to new ideas, adapting to the ever-changing market needs, and continuously striving for improvement in our services and interactions. It's about keeping our passion alive and our strategies innovative. 📅 Making Every Day Count Each day is an opportunity to reset our mindset, to approach our tasks with a fresh perspective, and to ensure that we're not just going through the motions, but actively contributing to the growth and success of the industry. 💭 So, as I go about my day, I encourage my colleagues and peers in the industry to take a moment to reflect and refresh. Let's make the most of our daily journey, turning every challenge into a learning opportunity, and every success into a stepping stone for future achievements. 🔹 #DailyReflection 🔹 #RefreshYourMindset 🔹 #OfficeLeasingBangkok🔹 #LazudiThailand

What 510,000 SG to JB Travellers Show Us the Future of Work? Seeing over 510,000 folks head from Singapore to Johor Bahru recently was thought provoking 🚀 Back in the day, many of us were iffy about crossing over to Malaysia. But hey, things have changed big time, and it’s not just about travel or reflection of our strong currency. This movement is like a mirror to how we, as a society and workforce, are shifting. We're not just about the safe bets anymore. Whether it’s exploring new places or jumping into different career paths, we’re showing a thirst for adventure and growth. The transformation in travel behaviour underscores a more significant trend of change within the Singaporean workforce. Today's professionals are not just looking for jobs; they are seeking meaningful careers that offer growth, learning opportunities, and the ability to contribute to something bigger than themselves. There's a growing desire for flexibility, work-life balance, and roles that align with personal values and passions. The modern Singaporean worker is more adventurous, open-minded, and willing to take risks, whether it's in pursuing a career overseas, switching industries, or starting a new business venture. This evolving mindset presents both challenges and opportunities for employers. To attract and retain top talent, organizations must adapt to these changing expectations. This could mean offering more flexible working arrangements, opportunities for continuous learning and development, or fostering a culture that values creativity and innovation. Employers that can align their values and work environment with the aspirations of this new generation will be better positioned to thrive in the ever-changing global economy. The big takeaway? Our jaunt to JB tells us we’re ready for change and challenges. For businesses, it’s a call to adapt and match the vibe of this adventurous new generation. #Workforcedevelopment #TravelTrends #SGtoJB #FutureOfWork #CareerTrends

Owners of office buildings around the world are grappling with the implications of the post-pandemic era, when many workers would rather log in from home than face a daily commute. In Malaysia, public transit ridership around the nation's capital has finally reached pre-pandemic levels – while nominal office rents have stayed flat since 2019. (That might be considered a relatively good outcome on a global basis, given that rents are declining in major business hubs and completed buildings are hitting the Kuala Lumpur market.) Should you build your back office in Malaysia? No, build your front office there instead! This week, my mentor and friend Elena Chow shared her views about Singapore companies hiring in Malaysia. (Link in the comments) I lent my thoughts for the article, but here’s more. Malaysia is pricier than its neighbors like the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. With a GDP per capita of ~US$13K (double theirs), it might not be the best value for routine back-office tasks. But for front-office roles—like sales, marketing, account management etc.—Malaysians can shine. Here are two major reasons why: 🍉 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 From food to shared history and living in multiracial societies, Malaysians can build rapport with Singaporean customers and suggest solutions that fit the local context. Customers feel more at ease when they think they're talking to a fellow local. 🏛️ 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 ~𝟱𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 Although English schools were abolished in 1970, here's a hiring tip: if one of the candidate's parents went to an English school, the language skill likely got passed down. I went to Malay schools, but my parents spoke English at home. So I learned it too. Finding good workers can be hard. But I'd like to see more Malaysians in meaningful roles here. Have you worked with Malaysians before?

Embarking on a New Journey: Bali Bound The dawn of 2024 indicated a significant milestone as I moved from Jakarta to Bali. It was a transition filled with excitement and anticipation, bidding farewell to the bustling metropolis of Jakarta and embracing the serene shores and vibrant culture of Bali. The decision to move to Bali was both strategic and inspired, driven by its potential as a development hub for Eastern Indonesia. Bali's role as a melting pot of international and domestic individuals fosters an environment ripe for knowledge exchange and innovation. Its fame as a host for prominent international events underscores its appeal as a hub for cross-cultural exchange, drawing renowned figures from various fields. Additionally, its strategic geographical location provides easier access to markets and resources in the evolving landscape of Eastern Indonesia. This region, which is rapidly growing and developing, has garnered major attention from the government. The relatively lower cost of living in Bali is another advantage, encouraging entrepreneurship and investment in the region while maintaining a high quality of life. Bali's natural beauty serves as a magnet for people worldwide, contributing to its reputation as a global hotspot for both leisure and business. With its stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, and vibrant culture, Bali captivates visitors and residents alike, promising a life enriched by its unique blend of cultural vibrancy and natural allure. In summary, my relocation to Bali represents a strategic move to tap into the region's potential for growth and prosperity. Leveraging my expertise as a communication specialist and public relations consultant, I aim to contribute to Bali's development and make a valuable impact on the community and businesses in the region. With 25 years of experience, I am eager to support businesses and organizations in Bali thrive. Whether crafting effective communication strategies, orchestrating public relations campaigns, and fostering relationships with stakeholders, or offering crisis communication support in times of need. I believe these capabilities are instrumental in helping businesses not only establish their presence but also attract customers and navigate challenges effectively.
