I recently joined Rohan Doyle on the latest episode of #InsideIR to discuss the new rights and obligations with respect to workplace delegates: https://lnkd.in/grydXdrs This includes: ▪ dissecting the new general protections provisions relating to workplace delegates, which commenced in December 2023; ▪ exploring the content and impact of the new modern award delegates’ rights term, which commenced operation from 1 July 2024; ▪ discussing the implications of these reforms for employers with enterprise agreements; and ▪ identifying what employers need to do to comply with these new laws, including in relation to representation by delegates in the workplace, and access to premises, facilities and training. Importantly, it’s going to take a fair bit of work to operationalise these provisions, including to ensure that line managers who engage with workplace delegates ‘on the ground’ know the boundaries. ▪ Vlog here - https://lnkd.in/gpJTsBwv ▪ Apple here - https://lnkd.in/gRJMyZcA ▪ Spotify here - https://lnkd.in/g56crfHJ #HSFIR #Industrialrelations #workplacedelegates #unions #unionrights #delegates
