Meinhardt Group unveiled significant expansion plans for its Malaysia operations in a glittering ceremony this evening. The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Uda, Group Chairman of PNB, and Special Guest, YB Datuk Wilson Ugak Anak Kumbong, Deputy Minister for Digital Malaysia. The event drew a strong turnout from industry leaders including developers, architects, financiers, contractors, and Malaysia-based heads of diplomatic missions. The celebration coincided with Meinhardt Group's Global Board meeting which was notably hosted in Malaysia for the second time in its history. Speaking at the event, Meinhardt Group CEO, Mr Omar Shahzad, said: “For over three decades, we have proudly established a strong presence in Malaysia, with nearly 400 dedicated professionals across our Kuala Lumpur and Penang offices. As one of the largest and most prominent players in our industry, we are here today to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to Malaysia. We view Malaysia as a crucial node in our global operations and aim to contribute to its sustained progress. By leveraging our unique blend of local knowledge and international expertise, we are poised to elevate our Malaysia operations, positioning it as both a regional and global hub.” Meinhardt is thrilled to announce a major strategic expansion of its operations in Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory. The company is set to elevate its Engineering Procurement Construction Management (EPCM) division in Malaysia to serve as a regional headquarters. Additionally, Meinhardt is bolstering its Penang office, transforming it into a global centre of excellence for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing. This aims to leverage Penang's thriving industrial ecosystem, positioning it at the forefront of technological innovation. To further extend its reach across Malaysia, Meinhardt will be inaugurating new offices in Johor and Kuching by the end of this year. The company will also be establishing its commercial advisory arm, MGI Capital, which can support capital fund-raising solutions, and set up design-build-finance-operate consortiums for bankable real estate and infrastructure projects. These initiatives are expected to catapult Meinhardt Malaysia to become one of the largest and most significant operations within the Meinhardt Group on a global scale, reflecting the company's dedication to excellence and its forward-looking vision. To support its growth plans, the Group has expanded its office space in Kuala Lumpur. This expansion will accommodate the increasing number of team members as the Group aims to increase its headcount to 600 by the end of 2025. “This move underscores the robust and dynamic long-term prospects in Malaysia's urban and infrastructure development landscape, as well as in the broader ASEAN region,” said Mr Shahzad. #MeinhardtGroup #MeinhardtMalaysia #TransformingCitiesShapingtheFuture
