All of the current windmills will need to be replaced before our net zero target date of 2050, and most of the current solar installations will be near the end of life by 2050. 💀 As per the net zero by 2050 pledge, most hydrocarbon sources must be replaced with clean energy sources, creating a big challenge for energy transition. Why? 👉Using current manufacturing capacity, it would take 67 years of manufacturing to replace hydrocarbon-based electricity and another 7.5 years to replace the retirements of existing wind farms. 👉For solar, it would take 13 years to replace the existing hydrocarbon-based electricity and another year to replace the retired facilities. Hence, predictive maintenance solutions and operational excellence platforms have a crucial role in mitigating process anomalies and increasing the operating lifecycle of these renewable plants. #renewables #solar
