Guaranteeing pressure safety capacity on HVDC converter platforms of offshore wind farms? Here is how it's done. One of Sofis’ customers in the renewable energy sector embarked on building a large HVDC Platform, to support a pioneering offshore wind project. The HVDC platforms convert the electricity generated by the wind turbines into high-voltage direct current for efficient transmission to the mainland. ⚠The proper functioning of these platforms relies on various critical systems, including cooling medium expansion vessel pressure protection, and nitrogen pressure protection. Ensuring pressure protection for these applications is vital to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of offshore wind HVDC converter platforms. 💡Sofis valve interlocks safeguard PSV capacity, and reduce the risk of equipment malfunction, leaks, and potential disasters. A 22MW TURBINE OFFSHORE I perfectly understand these companies and the principles of building a bigger turbine to generate more electricity from a less amount of turbines. These monsters they’re building are great achievements of spectacular engineering with some very skilled design and construction involved. However! What about making sure the global fleet of turbines we have already are staffed and maintained correctly. There is so many of us in the industry that know things are not what they should be at the moment and yes companies, well, some are making efforts to improve maintenance and reliability by employing more qualified personnel to ensure greater electricity generation. We know that there are numerous fleets of turbines not running at full capacity due to lack of maintenance programs.
