Domino's is a masterclass in the digital entrepreneur's playbook! They saw a limitation in their industry (fixed delivery locations) and leveraged technology (data & Pinpoint Delivery) to solve it. They didn't just create a better pizza experience, they redefined convenience through a customer-centric digital approach. Pinpoint Delivery? Genius! https://lnkd.in/dMTHDGmu Want to be a digital entrepreneur? The story of dominos is a must watch. https://lnkd.in/d2DmUiYW

How does this happen? Wendy caught up with the King, and now the Sailor is passing the Colonel. As an entrepreneur I always ask myself how do these brands lose their way. They have all the resources in the world to grow and manage their businesses. I’m sure the recipes haven’t changed. Is it complacency? Lack of innovation? What do you think? I do know there have been 3 really viral moments in the food space over the past 10 years and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen owns one of them: 1. The Cronut (Dominique Ansel) 2. Patti LaBelle Sweet Potato Pies (Walmart) 3. The Chicken Sandwich (Popeyes) As food concerns I believe it’s imperative that we “stay in the kitchen” and keep our hands on the pulses of those that keep us in business. Staying relevant to your audience both internally and externally should be a priority. Respectfully, Tod

🎬 “The Founder” opens in 1954 America with Ray Kroc racking up miles selling milkshake mixers. He has his pitch down cold, but the customers aren’t buying. One day, he stumbles upon a busy burger joint called McDonald's in San Bernardino, California. 🍔 He’s impressed by the turnout, but he’s more taken with the seamless efficiency of McDonald’s Speedee Service System. Everything is timed and noted down to bring the average waiting time of 30 minutes down to 30 seconds. They got the right formula that could be repeated, the exact amount of every ingredient predetermined, and the people working promptly to keep McDonald’s quality constant. 💡 Starting with Ray Kroc’s vision, McDonald's has become a global phenomenon, with the same menu, quality, and experience available worldwide. This concept of fast sharing of the same products—known to all as globalisation—has impacted many other industries, such as snacks, coffee, and fashion. 👉 This is a must-watch film not only for the story behind McDonald’s and McDonaldization, which has affected everyone’s life but also for the “behind the scenes” of a successful business, understanding the logic and sometimes brutality of the “game,” seeing the potential of ideas and taking the opportunity to fulfil them. You could actually change the world as you know it! #SSPVCapital #SundayVesting #YourImpactVenture #TechieCinemaClub

Shawn Allard didn’t set out to buy a business in the food and beverage space. Fortunately, he stayed open minded during his search and ended up finding a business that was a great fit for him: Novel Ice Cream. Less than a year into his acquisition, Shawn just opened a coffee shop and has two new ice cream locations in the works. This success hasn't come without bumps along the way. Shawn initially kept his W2 for a few months post-acquisition in order to put more capital towards growth, a decision that ended up having challenging consequences for his team and business. But with time, Shawn learned to expect challenges and to anticipate the unanticipated to come his way each day. In my latest episode of So You Want to Buy a Business, Shawn shares how he improved as an operator and built company culture. His turnover rate is surprisingly low for the food and beverage industry, and it is no doubt due to the time and energy he puts into his business. Small businesses take work. Check out our full conversation to learn more about Shawn's search and the work he's put in to get where he is today. https://lnkd.in/g8cuYFmu Thank you so much for joining me for this conversation, Shawn! #smallbusiness #businessowner #SMB #ETA #SBA

Actually, it is quite funny that this quote is from Ray Kroc. Ray was certainly not the first. It is often thought that he is the founder of McDonald's. But that is not the case. The McDonald's restaurant already existed when he came in as a seller of milkshake machines. What Ray Kroc was, is the man who made McDonald's big. So yes, he was certainly daring, different and very innovative! As we already said: It helps, but you don't necessarily have to be the first. You do need to know how you can make a difference, what will you do differently or better? How can you grow? #RayKroc #innovation #growth #McDonald's #quote
