As a fully remote company, opportunities to see our incredible team in person are rare. We cherish these moments when we can gather to share laughs, good food, and the best vibes. Last week, we took an hour outside of Microsoft Teams and into the real world—an absolute pleasure conversing with this phenomenal team. These intimate gatherings remind us that even in a remote environment, meaningful connections are always within reach. Whether over a virtual call or face-to-face, our bonds remain strong. To those who joined us, thank you for your warmth and camaraderie. Here's to more moments of casual connection and shared laughter as we thrive as a fully distributed team! #workfromanywhere #teambonding #wellnesscommunity

⏳ After almost a decade of working with hybrid and remote teams, Ashley Rudolph has learned a few valuable tricks that improve team collaboration and foster a strong sense of connection in a team, regardless of location. She shares her top 4 ways to improve team connections. 1️⃣ Nurture Human Connections: The first tip may not come as a surprise, but it's crucial: schedule one-on-one time with your team members. Sometimes people hesitate to initiate these conversations, fearing they have nothing specific to discuss. However, it's essential to establish a personal connection. Whether it's through Slack, Zoom, Teams, or your company's preferred platform, these short, focused meetings (even 15 minutes) can work wonders. 2️⃣ Fun Activities: Scheduling time for enjoyable, team-building activities is another key ingredient. "I've organized virtual escape rooms, mystery games, and even a team Jeopardy with questions about team members. While these were often synchronous, adapt them to asynchronous formats if needed. Remember, it's crucial to gauge your team's interest and enthusiasm for these activities to make sure they enjoy and value their time." 3️⃣ Asynchronous Connection: Don't limit yourself to synchronous activities only. Encourage your team to connect asynchronously as well. You can suggest these connections and follow up to see if they're happening. This promotes flexibility and accommodates team members in different time zones. 4️⃣ Collaboration Scheduling: As a manager, make it a priority to understand what everyone is working on. During one-on-one meetings, draw connections between your team members' work. If someone is working on a project similar to another colleague's or if someone possesses a skill that could assist a struggling team member, bring it to their attention. This fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing. See the full answer through the link in the comments. #remotework #teambuilding #hybridteams

Being Remote ≠ Zero Culture By 2025, 32.6 million Americans will work remotely. The biggest challenge to leaders and employers is creating and maintaining a positive culture. We have so many virtual experiences, hosted by experts to connect teams across the globe. Why should you consider a virtual event? → Give every team member ample opportunity to contribute. → Involve remote teams in collaboration. → Build face to face communication outside of the team Slack. → Learn more about each other than what their spare rooms look like. → Show your team you care about them with something genuinely fun!
